My coworker’s young Australian Shepard taken on 12/19/06. Her father is also a “blue Merle” and her mother is a Black Tri, the perfect makings for excellent stock. We call her Punz for short; she will be ready to breed in the Spring of 2008; I can only imagine how gorgeous her pups will be. I don’t take many pet photographs but, on seeing the outcome of this shot, that may change.

“Horses speak to the soul of Man in a language that requires no translation” / ~ Skye Ryan-Evans © ~ Featuring historic elements symbolizing the Spanish arrival in the Americas, the Carrack Pinto sailed to The New World by Christopher Columbus, old manuscripts referencing Queen Isabella of Spain, Hernando Cortez and the Warrior Horses brought by the Spaniards who first invaded and explored the Americas in the 15th and 16th centuries. The Alamo built in 1718 represents Texas and the Mexican Padres who bred the rare and pure-blood horses that descended directly from the earliest Spanish arrivals. “This amazing bloodline is also often referred to as American Barb, or sometimes SABAS, an acronym from the breeds that made up the line in Spain before hoof set to ground in the New World, representing: “Spanish, Arabian, Barb, Andalusian, Sorrai”“ Quoted from Texas-based / American Barb breeder. / Callie Heacock. 50% from all funds raised, benefit the caring Wiindcross Conservancy as they strive to protect America’s pure-blood Sorraia horses. This is a re-work of my Scruffy picture I took of her 3 days after I found her abandoned on the “campo” scared and alone. Nikon D40 18-55mm I think she must have been thrown out at night as she is terrified of going into our back garden at night (our spotlight is broken!) and just cowers on the grass in fear and refuses to go to the toilet! Anyway whilst RB was down the other day I did a bit of playing on PSP and this was one of the images I played with!!! TEXTURE /

As Is Canon EOS 350D Canon Lens 34mm 1/60 sec F/4,5 ISO-400 / Sushi is a six week old Maine Coon Kitten of the Cattery Kata-Nebari, The Netherlands, Europe / The Maine Coon is a breed of domestic cat well known for its distinctive physical appearance. It is one of the oldest natural breeds in North America, specifically native to the state of Maine, where it is the official State Cat. Although the Maine Coon’s exact origins and date of introduction to the United States are unknown, many theories have been proposed. The breed was popular in cat shows in the late 1800s, but its existence became threatened when long-haired breeds from overseas were introduced in the early 20th century. The Maine Coon has since made a comeback and is now the second most popular cat breed in the world, according to the Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA). The Maine Coon is generally noted for its large bone structure, its rectangular body shape, and a long, flowing coat. The breed can be seen in a variety of colors and are known for their intelligence and gentle personalities. Health problems, such as feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and hip dysplasia, are seen in the breed, but testing is available to detect the genes responsible for causing these abnormalities. / Source Wikipedia / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Featured in Cats and Dogs, Alphabet Soup

Male Lion The lion (Panthera leo) is a member of the family Felidae and one of four big cats in the genus Panthera. With some males exceeding 250 kg (550 lb) in weight, it is the second-largest living cat after the tiger. Wild lions currently exist in Sub-Saharan Africa and in Asia with a critically endangered remnant population in northwest India, having disappeared from North Africa, the Middle East, and Western Asia in historic times. Until the late Pleistocene (about 10,000 years ago), the lion was the most widespread large land mammal beside humans. They were found in most of Africa, much of Eurasia from western Europe to India and, in the Americas, from the Yukon to Peru. Should they survive the rigors of cubhood, lionesses in secure habitat, such as national parks, frequently reach an age of 12–14 years whereas male lions seldom live for longer than 8 years. However, there are records of lionesses living for up to 20 years in the wild. In captivity both male and female lions can live for over 20 years. They typically inhabit savanna and grassland, although they may take to bush and forest. Lions are unusually social compared to other cats. A pride of lions consists of related females and offspring and a small number of adult males. Groups of female lions typically hunt together, preying mostly on large ungulates. The lion is an apex and keystone predator, although they will resort to scavenging if the opportunity arises. While lions, in general, do not selectively hunt humans, some have been known to become man-eaters and seek human prey. The lion is a vulnerable species, having seen a possibly irreversible population decline of 30 to 50 percent over the past two decades in its African range; populations are untenable outside designated reserves and national parks. Although the cause of the decline is not well understood, habitat loss and conflicts with humans are currently the greatest causes of concern. Lions have been kept in menageries since Roman times and have been a key species sought after and exhibited in zoos the world over since the late eighteenth century. Zoos are cooperating worldwide in breeding programs for the endangered Asiatic subspecies. The male lion is highly distinctive and is easily recognized by its mane. The lion, particularly the face of the male, is one of the most widely recognized animal symbols in human culture. “The King’s Portrait ….... ” was featured in Live, Love, Dream
