This is a re-work of my Scruffy picture I took of her 3 days after I found her abandoned on the “campo” scared and alone. Nikon D40 18-55mm I think she must have been thrown out at night as she is terrified of going into our back garden at night (our spotlight is broken!) and just cowers on the grass in fear and refuses to go to the toilet! Anyway whilst RB was down the other day I did a bit of playing on PSP and this was one of the images I played with!!! TEXTURE /
On the way to the beautiful waterfall at Lake Vyrnwy, I happened to chance upon these sheep, after taking the shot, I turned to find myself confronted by a dog, simultainiously, we both jumped out of our skins and happily went our seperate ways …..... / It was a rough old day, which portrays the ruggedness of rural Wales . As Is Canon EOS 350D Canon Lens 34mm 1/60 sec F/4,5 ISO-400 / Sushi is a six week old Maine Coon Kitten of the Cattery Kata-Nebari, The Netherlands, Europe / The Maine Coon is a breed of domestic cat well known for its distinctive physical appearance. It is one of the oldest natural breeds in North America, specifically native to the state of Maine, where it is the official State Cat. Although the Maine Coon’s exact origins and date of introduction to the United States are unknown, many theories have been proposed. The breed was popular in cat shows in the late 1800s, but its existence became threatened when long-haired breeds from overseas were introduced in the early 20th century. The Maine Coon has since made a comeback and is now the second most popular cat breed in the world, according to the Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA). The Maine Coon is generally noted for its large bone structure, its rectangular body shape, and a long, flowing coat. The breed can be seen in a variety of colors and are known for their intelligence and gentle personalities. Health problems, such as feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and hip dysplasia, are seen in the breed, but testing is available to detect the genes responsible for causing these abnormalities. / Source Wikipedia / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Featured in Cats and Dogs
My coworker’s young Australian Shepard taken on 12/19/06. Her father is also a “blue Merle” and her mother is a Black Tri, the perfect makings for excellent stock. We call her Punz for short; she will be ready to breed in the Spring of 2008; I can only imagine how gorgeous her pups will be. I don’t take many pet photographs but, on seeing the outcome of this shot, that may change.
Cute little puppy

“Horses speak to the soul of Man in a language that requires no translation” / ~ Skye Ryan-Evans © ~ Featuring historic elements symbolizing the Spanish arrival in the Americas, the Carrack Pinto sailed to The New World by Christopher Columbus, old manuscripts referencing Queen Isabella of Spain, Hernando Cortez and the Warrior Horses brought by the Spaniards who first invaded and explored the Americas in the 15th and 16th centuries. The Alamo built in 1718 represents Texas and the Mexican Padres who bred the rare and pure-blood horses that descended directly from the earliest Spanish arrivals. “This amazing bloodline is also often referred to as American Barb, or sometimes SABAS, an acronym from the breeds that made up the line in Spain before hoof set to ground in the New World, representing: “Spanish, Arabian, Barb, Andalusian, Sorrai”“ Quoted from Texas-based / American Barb breeder. / Callie Heacock. 50% from all funds raised, benefit the caring Wiindcross Conservancy as they strive to protect America’s pure-blood Sorraia horses. Rescued from the back of a van, she had been weened early and had been ‘caged’ in a van as the owner travelled the local area selling pet supplies. A very special dog as she timed her arrival with our tenth wedding anniversary and truly settling ın Turkey. I had had Rottweiler rescue dogs in the UK and had fallen in love with the breed – Roxy and Clyde are dear departed friends. She mated with Troy in January 2009 and produced a wonderful litter of pups: they were born on the anniversary of Clyde’s passing a year ealier. From the litter we will keep a boy and name him Clyde after the dog we rehomed with friends in the UK and possibly a girl (Mollie) ....pending ….. The Rottweiler, or Rottweil Metzgerhund (“Butchers Dog”), is a “medium to large size, stalwart dog” breed originating in Germany as a herding dog. It is a hardy and very intelligent breed. Rottweilers also worked as draught dogs, pulling carts to carry meat and other products to market. “Rottweiler breeders aim at a dog of abundant strength, black coated with clearly defined rich tan markings, whose powerful appearance does not lack nobility and which is exceptionally well suited to being a companion, service and working dog.” The Rottweiler was kept busy in these traditional roles until the mid-19th century when railroads replaced droving for getting livestock to market. Although there are still Rottweilers working stock all over the world, many other roles have been found for this versatile breed. During the first and second World Wars, Rottweilers were put into service in various roles including as messenger, draught and guard dogs. Currently they are often used as search and rescue, assistance, guide dogs for the blind, guard and police dogs in addition to their traditional roles. Although an extremely versatile breed used in recent times for many other purposes, the Rottweiler is first and foremost one of the oldest, if not the oldest, of herding breeds. A multi-faceted herding and stock protection dog of exceptional ability, it is capable of working all kinds of livestock under a wide variety of conditions. The breed is an ancient one, whose history stretches back to the Roman Empire. In those times, the legions traveled with their meat on the hoof and required the assistance of working dogs to herd the cattle. One route the army traveled was through Württemberg and on to the small market town of Rottweil. The principal ancestors of the first Rottweilers during this time was supposed to be the Roman droving dog, local dogs the army met on its travels, and dogs with molosser appearance coming from England and The Netherlands. This region eventually became an important cattle area, and the descendants of the Roman cattle dogs proved their worth in both driving and protecting the cattle from robbers and wild animals. However, by the end of the 19th century as railroads became the main method for moving stock to market, the breed had declined so much that in 1900 there was only one female to be found in the town of Rottweil.
