  • My German Shep Klaus, just kinda playing around with him with my 50mm f1.7, he can make a fun model :) I went for the B&W because I really wanted to bring out a sense of emotion and drama in him. See more of my work on my website at http://jdebordphoto.com

  • Turtles are reptilians of the Order Testudines, most of whose body is shielded by a special bony or cartilaginous shell developed from their ribs. About 300 species are alive today, and some are highly endangered.Turtles cannot breathe in water, but they can hold their breath for various periods of time. They breathe air and don’t lay eggs underwater, although many species live in or around water. The largest turtles are aquatic.(Wikipedia.org)

His name is a bit inappropriate really : his first owners took him from the street where he had been abandoned and whist with them chased a cat (sadly encouraged to do so) and ended up under a car. He went into the forest into hiding and led to a ‘search party’ to find him. Sadly his owner had to return to the UK and despite trying to rehome him were unable to do so. Fortunately (for Lucky) we were moving (with our four cats) to a detatched home and we adopted him. / He has scars on his body and legs, broken teeth and a perpetual ‘life does me no favours’ type of look. He chases cats, runs from pups, tolerates life and barks and snaps at anything that buzzes (he has constant bites and stings as a result). / He is a man of routine, has no social decorum and produces abundant amountsof pet nectar. He constantly needs a bath and hates water: even refuses to toilet or go for a walk if there is a hint of rain. / Given choice he would stay in ‘bed’ 24/7 – probably read a cheap tabloid newspaper – headlines, page 3 and sport. / In addition to the above he is a Heinx 47. Obviously boxer, a hint of mastiff and a suggestion of Rhodesian Ridgeback. LUCKY / A mixed-breed dog, also called a mutt, mongrel, tyke, cur, bitzer, feist or random-bred dog, is a dog that has characteristics of two or more types of breeds, or is a descendant of feral or pariah dog populations. The term “mixed-breed” is a misnomer, as it does not indicate the offspring of dogs of known or pure breeding. This term (along with the term purebred dog) stems from a fundamental misunderstanding of genetics and misinterpretation of Darwinian theory. In contrast to mixed-breed, the term crossbreed refers to puppies produced by the intentional breeding of dogs of two different known purebred dog breeds. The term “mutt” or mixed-breed generally refers to a dog of unknown descent. Dogs interbreed freely, except where extreme variations in size exist, so mixed-breed dogs vary in size, shape, and color, making them hard to classify physically.

  • This is a re-work of my Scruffy picture I took of her 3 days after I found her abandoned on the “campo” scared and alone. Nikon D40 18-55mm I think she must have been thrown out at night as she is terrified of going into our back garden at night (our spotlight is broken!) and just cowers on the grass in fear and refuses to go to the toilet! Anyway whilst RB was down the other day I did a bit of playing on PSP and this was one of the images I played with!!! TEXTURE /

  • “I am such a wimp and don’t like the vet stabbing me and so much has happened to me in the past 6 weeks! Then I was alone, abandoned, full of worms, ticks and fleas, pregnant, cold and hungry. I was found by my new Mum and now I am vacinated, speyed and today I had my last trumatic visit to the vet and had a blood test so that I can go and live in England if my Mum has to return there. In this photo I am actually using Boots as a pillow! I usually either use him or a human to lie on! Anyway I am a happy girl now, regular food, walks and comfortable house to live in!” Nikon D40 18-55mm Raw was just trying out the remote control I got for Xmas! A real bargain, cost something silly like £2 off Ebay direct from China/HongKong and works fine! About £18 cheaper than Amazon! Started photography May 2008

  • Scruffy dog enjoying the sun. Yes I was a bit trigger happy yesterday!!!! Fiddled with in PSP but haven’t a clue what I did now! Various duplicate layers, blending and masking! To comply with group rules: / Started photography May 2008 / Nikon D40 18-55mm at 18mm, natural light. / I found Scruffy 2 months ago on wild campo land in Spain. She was pregnant, full of ticks, fleas and worms! Thanks to a local animal charity, they vacinated her and speyed her. She is the cheekiest, funniest and most adorable dog you could wish for.

  • THE PROMISE / Best viewed large. / / The Frenchman Joseph Permet-Ducher is credited with the first discovery of yellow roses around the 18th century. After approximately 20 years of attempting to breed a hearty yellow rose and “THE PROMISE” to create one, Joseph stumbled upon a mutant yellow rose in a field. With this specimen, he was able to duplicate its structure and create the first yellow roses! / / A beautiful interpretation of yellow roses is the notion of renewal; yellow roses are a perfect way to apologize and to make amends. A bouquet of yellow roses reflects calm contentment, undying love, and comfort. Yellow roses tell a spouse or partner that you value them everyday and that you see them as the fulfillment of your needs. This flower and color are aptly associated with wedding anniversaries, especially for the fifteenth year of marriage. / / Nothing conveys real love, companionship, renewal, reconciliation, and friendship quite like yellow roses. These flowers stand alone in their meanings and serve a beautiful purpose for communicating messages of hope and “THE PROMISE” of love with the utmost sincerity. / BETTE MIDLER:THE ROSE Some say love, it is a river / that drowns the tender reed. / Some say love, it is a razor / that leaves your soul to bleed. / Some say love, it is a hunger, / an endless aching need. / I say love, it is a flower, / and you it’s only seed. It’s the heart afraid of breaking / that never learns to dance. / It’s the dream afraid of waking / that never takes the chance. / It’s the one who won’t be taken, / who cannot seem to give, / and the soul afraid of dyin’ / that never learns to live. When the night has been too lonely / and the road has been to long, / and you think that love is only / for the lucky and the strong, / just remember in the winter / far beneath the winter snows / lies the seed that with the sun’s love / in the spring becomes the rose.
