  • The reflections of the surrounding trees, the sun and sky in an almost still pond in the grounds of the Peatlands Park.

  • While wandering through a wintery Commonwealth Park in Canberra, memories of Spring and Floriade fresh in my mind, with their bright vivid rainbow colours, I began to reflect on the contrast of seasons. For what I saw around me was in stark contrast to the images in my mind. It was now Winter. The trees were bare, the colours muted. / Clouds barred the sun all but a brief burst of light. Yet in the midst of such drabness, beauty was still to be found. / A bright jewel in the dry dark night of winter.

  • This one is a collection of shots I have taken when it rained! I love droplets!

  • A macro photograph of a raindrop on a branch after a storm, taken in my garden which has been digitally rendered as a watercolour.

  • A man and woman at the bank of a lake shaded by trees. Original is painted in acrylic on canvas, 20×16 inches.

  • “The Atlas Of Dreams” is an ongoing project started in 1999. Each plate is composed of several different images combined to create something greater than the sum of its parts. Source images include historic engravings, NASA photos of space and the Earth’s surface, abstract images, the artwork of my father: Gus Maier, and of course my own artwork – recycled and reused. Watch out for stray butterflies, fish, snakes, and other animals… “Color Plate 45” was a struggle. I didn’t think it was ever going to work, but I kept playing with it to see where it wanted to go. I’m pretty pleased with the light and airy final version. It combines a photograph from an unknown stock.xchng member with a “splashguard painting” created by my father, Gus Maier.

  • Reflections on Econfina Creek, Bayou George, FL. Gum leaves and cypress needles.

  • These broken branches have a become a feature in the dam.

  • Taken in my neighbors back yard of a big, fake frog in her bird bath. I liked how the reflections of the tree branches came out.

  • A pretty pond, with a walking bridge, spanning it. Found in John Chestnutt Park, Palm Harbor, Florida.

  • I love the contrast in this shot. — Taken with: Canon 40D / Lens used: 2.8 100mm / Shutter speed: 1/6400 / F number: 4.0 / ISO: 400

  • Lovely bare branches climbing the wall and surrounding a window at Notre Dame University, Fremantle, Western Australia. I loved the starkness of the branches and the leaves reflecting in the window. / Camera – Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30

  • Highlighted by an early morning sun, golden leaves reflect off the nearly still waters of the west fork of oak creek in Sedona.

  • This is a park near our house. It’s so peaceful there and I took this shot while setting up for a photo shoot.
