  • Looking through the bus window on the way home, I see this playful movement of light and dark shades, between leaves and branches. It is a moment to be captured. Real image with no additional painting… The light painted it on my camera’s ccd sensor! I have set the camera on manual zoom, manual speed and aperture, so that the motion can be capture on shutter release. Behind the glass window of a moving bus, I hunt for the right angle of sun and the right tree, and follow throught the target like taking an image of a sport player. All about timing and a bit of luck! Love to see critiques and comments. All welcome. • Many dreams are forgotten or lost by the time we awaken fully, but that is not usually the case with dreams of flying. Flying dreams are very often a precursor for lucid dreaming; a dream state in which we are aware we are dreaming and can manipulate the outcome of the dream. Freely flying as high or as low as you wish using your arms or feet for direction, often with the ability to do acrobatics in the air is an indication that you feel really superior about something in your life. Once in a while, a flying dream will not go so well, such as when you can’t take off or you lose altitude or something is in your path and you can’t fly past or through it. / Surrealism art prints / Digital art prints / Fantasy digital art wallpapers

  • A flight to Denver Colorado, a 5 hour drive to Togwotee Mountain Pass, USA at an altitude of 9767ft made for some spectacular scenary, but also made for the worst altitude sickness EVER. One by one our party fell ill, only I remained standing. I went out on Christmas Day, took various shots including this one from the car, I also took a video diary of the trip for everyone in bed. I should really dig it out as I remember they wern’t happy with my jolly commentary. Only after I got stuck in the snow did I begin to feel exceptionally ill. The trip was immediately cut short. I missed out on the Devils Tower Wyoming and Mount Rushmore. Dammit. Greeting Cards / Framed Print / Canon 10D, 70-200mm at 135mm, f/9.5, 1/90 sec, ISO 200. No filters used and mounted on the car door. A small amount of dust and scratches removed in photoshop. This shot is also available from a photobook collection called Rural Mementos by redtree.me © Copyright 2009 David Reid – redtree.me – All rights reserved.

  • 1015 views as of Dec 8, 2009 / / I was down at Okanagan beach this afternoon taking some photographs when I noticed the reflection of some tree tops with the light shining through them in this puddle. Thought it looked almost like the leaves in the puddle were falling onto the trees…..seemed kind of magical to me :)

  • Best on Full Size Just a fun reminder to those of us in the Northern Hemisphere to set seed out for our feathered friends in the coming weeks and months. Winter is very hard on these little guys … I have no idea how anything so tiny and fragile looking can withstand the ferocity of winter’s snow and ice and cold … but they do. A little help from us is never a bad thing. Many of the guys who regularly visit me love black oiler sunflower seeds and I always try to make sure my feeders are well stocked. focal distance 300mm. This image was taken on March 2, 2009 with the Nikon D40x and the 70-300mm vr Nikon lens, UV filter. Shutter speed was 1/800, aperture f/5.6, exp 0.00, iso 200. “Please Feed The Birds” was taken at the same time as Tree Treasure ... and the two images are very similar. But I loved how in this one my little buddy is looking right at me. Plus I was monkeying around with some new textures and a couple of other techniques and kind of liked the results. Thanks to “Telzy” at Flickr for the texture.
