Early morning sunrays through the trees in our backyard (literally!). It reminded me of the arrival of some other life force.
“New Growth New Hope” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © A surreal depicition of two larger trees bending over a smaller one and protecting it whilst silhouetted against the rising of a full moon. “Young one you know how I’m older than thee?” / said the largest of the trees, / “Another is growing smaller than you / and we must tell it the best thing to do” / “I know, I know”, said the younger tree, / “To grow as tall as the moon. Will it be sibling to me?” / ‘Yes it shall, it will grow by and by.” / And the trees stood and watched / the new reach for the sky…....” Author: adgray / See the rest of adgray’s writing inspired by / New Growth New Hope here. Many dreams are forgotten or lost by the time we awaken fully, but that is not usually the case with dreams of flying. Flying dreams are very often a precursor for lucid dreaming; a dream state in which we are aware we are dreaming and can manipulate the outcome of the dream. Freely flying as high or as low as you wish using your arms or feet for direction, often with the ability to do acrobatics in the air is an indication that you feel really superior about something in your life. Once in a while, a flying dream will not go so well, such as when you can’t take off or you lose altitude or something is in your path and you can’t fly past or through it. / Surrealism art prints / Digital art prints / Fantasy digital art wallpapers

We never thought this day would come, / But it’s finally here at last, What once was our bright future, / Is now are dim-lit past, But we hold onto the memories, / The lessons that we learned, The pathways we have traveled down, / The corners that we turned, And soon we say our sad goodbyes, / That will last us forever, We may see each other again, / Maybe once or maybe never, So make your goodbyes ones to remember, / The kind that will stay in their heads, Those are the goodbyes they will treasure, / The ones that were sad to be said.

Simmondsia vitra is closely related to the Jojoba shrub (Simmondsia chinensis), pronounced “ho-HO-bah”. Jojoba is native to the Sonoran and Mojave deserts of Arizona, California, and Mexico. Simmondsia vitra however is primarily found in arid urban environments and produces an extremely toxic, oily substance. “A Boab Sunrise” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © Sony a100 camera / Photoshop CS4 artwork The Australian Aboriginal legend of the Boab Tree (or Bottle Tree): “When the tree God created the Boab Tree it was to be the most beautiful of all trees in the universe, with the most beautiful flowers and bearing the juiciest fruit. But as the tree grew to maturity its flowers were mediocre and its fruit had a bad odour and tasted vile. The Tree God became so angry that he yanked the Boab out of the ground and slammed it back in the earth upside down and that is why today, when you see a Boab tree, it looks as if its roots are growing up in the air.” Thangool, Queensland A Boab Sunrise was featured in the: Trees group – Sept 09 Image Writing group – Sept 09 Queensland group – Sept 09 Inspired Art group – Oct 09

I was off to take some photographs of some waterfalls in the Breacon Beacons in Wales when I almost missed this scene. Had there not been a break in the cloud I may have missed it. It was probably the best drive by shooting photograph I have to date. I’ve had a little play in photoshop and thought I’d post the results. / The original was shot using a Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 27mm, f/8, 1/60 sec, ISO 400. No filters used and mounted on the car door. I then upped the exposure in photoshop with a layered PS approach and added some crows for effect. I hope you like it. © Copyright 2009 David Reid – redtree.me – All rights reserved.
An eerie, spooky scene as fog rolls through an autumn mountain and river scene. Photo taken in early October along the Little Susitna River in Central Alaska.
Thankfully even through high winds and alot of rain, a tree in my daughters back yard stood with beautiful leaves still on its branches and a blanket of them on the ground, after tomorrow we are in for more high winds I am sure alot of these will be falling off like crazy.
