I can not hold still.
I’m guessing that this fire was never used any more, otherwise the belts and braces approach of putting a radiator next to a fire is a bit of a waste

Featured in Live, Love, Dream 5th Nov, 2008. / This is a beautiful thatched pub/restaurant, The Brace of Pheasants in Plush, Dorset. They have a wonderful menu and I was about to eat there, but, unfortunately, arrived at 15:05 and the kitchens closed at 15:00. Oh well, maybe next time. / The pub ‘sign’ is not a sign at all but an illuminated glass cabinet containing a brace of stuffed pheasants – a cock and a hen. I don’t know how long the glass box has been up there, but I know it wouldn’t be five minutes outside a London pub before some senseless yob would throw a brick at it.

Pain is a demanding tenant / coiled at the base of my spine / it’s up at all hours / of the night - / claws its way up / my ribcage / like a ladder / digging its talons / into my tailbone / it perches / on my Adam’s Rib / grabs me by my throat / and takes me / shakes me / wakes me up / then / breaks me down bit by bit / bone by bone banging on my skull / like a drum / pouding out its beat / in my blood / in a frenzy / that brings me to my / knees / - i hit the ground / then hit the bottle pills / or wine two, four, six, nine - its all the same / its all in the name / of drowning the pain / my troublesome tenant / (i should really raise the rent) / until it evolves / grows some gills / and it will / because you can’t kill it / and you can’t kick it out / you can only make its home / a little less hospitable for awhile Until it develops a habit / right along with you / and then, my friend, / You’re screwed.
Selfportrait, Honolulu 2004 As i’m working on a couple new projects (i just got a video-camera…*gleeful giggles) I’m going to be uploading several of my very first self-portraits. This one was taken the day i got my back-brace, a week post-spinal injury, my cane in tow, most likely flying on vicodin… Hope you enjoy.
brace-faced albino prince of the crystal swan kingdom. / the most beautiful boy of them all.
How many times have you looked at yourself in the mirror and thought you looked terrible…maybe unattractive? / How many times have you felt inadequate, insecure, unloved? / None of us chose our looks, our bodies…. / We tend to forget that it is not the size of our body that is important….... it is the size of our heart. / You are special to someone…irrespective
I love photographing my Father. There’s a lot of character to be captured in someone who’s lived for 70 years. / We all went to a local airshow today, & Dad I were drawn to the classic & vintage cars that were on display. / This one’s a ‘48 Ford Prefect. / Two classics full of character….
