I was looking at my photos today from my african trip and again I was take by this boy’s eyes. I know I have uploaded similar image before but I just felt compelled to upload this. / He is a rwandan boy. If only he understood what had happened in his land. The lost, the devestation, now the rebuilding. / I guess innocence is not such a bad thing.

This is the second of my images for my college project in which i am trying to produce ‘emotive’ portraits. This has been taken at the same location as Urban Playground (on a different day).

Spanish City is in Whitley Bay (UK) and was a place where tourist would flock too. It has the most beautiful beaches but unfortunately there has been a decline in the urban side – however, saying that there is apparently a commitment for regeneration. What makes me sad is that we allow things to fall into this kind of disrepair in the first place – beautiful places like this are blighted by closed down hotels, pubs, amusement parks and cafes. This is part of my college project.

“Listen a hundred times; ponder a thousand times; speak once.” / - TURKISH PROVERB My son Kane had no idea I was photographing him at this time…He was just wondering sweetly along a path in a local parkland area when suddenly he stopped and leaned on the fence. I honestly could not believe what I was seeing through my viewfinder when he did it. Then when I saw the photograph it just blew me away. Kane is 3 years old in this photograph. This is my all time favourite photograph I’ve taken with my DSLR to date. Played with the colour version in photoshop and am very pleased with the outcome.
