This is part of a series i have put together. I am growing ever fascinated with childhood, their thoughts and in particular children’s literature, art and so-called amusement – there is always an intense darkness about it – so i have tried to create dark images visually and psychologically – i didn’t ask Abe to pose but was pleased his head was turned because now i hope we look through him and discover our own thoughts (Hope that makes sense to you).
Here are my boys and hubby checking out the clouds before a storm.
I’m sure every one with children understands these moments quite well… Here is a photo taken of my oldest son..
This is for Stuart Chapman – is it dark enough for you? LOL!!! And for the many friends here on RB who help me and many others see light on dark days :0)
Ink on paper illustration from a book I have written and illustrated. This character is largely inspired by Edgar Allan Poe and an array of depressive songwriters I have encountered.

Molly the Lil Witch, Oscar and Ophelia by Paul Rees-Jones The night was stormy and rather bleak, / Molly was a little bored witchy freak. She mulled over spells and warmed up her cauldron, / To create some friends to end her boredom. She delicately sewed a doll from rags, / Smiling and singing, a rather cute hag. And when she was done she was bright as a star, / Because held in her hands was the rag boy, Oscar. But soon she thought about the little boys heart, / To be all alone when his life just starts. So she borrowed small string of yarn from his hair, / And fashioned Ophelia, a sister to share. A spell and a cloud of nasty green smoke, / And Molly had made two little doll folk.

Frankie and Temperance by Paul Rees-Jones Frankie was made in a hurry, in the lab, / Brought to life on a cold electric slab. He was given a body with all of the parts, / And was given an oversized heart. From the moment he saw her , she was his deliverence, / That dead Lil Zombie, the cute and lovely Temperance. He swooned and swayed, thought he’d pop a stitch, / Whenever around her, his voice lost it’s pitch. He planned and tried so often to say, / The words in his heart every day. Now if he knew how Temperance felt for him, / He wouldn’t have worry, nor feel so grim. Cause when she looked at him with her good eye, / Inside her cold heart was a loving sweet sigh. So there they are these sweet Lil dears, / All thats stopping their love is their silly fears.
Here is a sunset capture with my two boys. They are very close and are not only brothers but best friends and love doing everything together :o)
I am Not interested in history – i want to play in the puddles!!! Happy New Year to you all in RB land xxxx

Ink drawing on paper. One for the kiddies…. The first step into the forest was the worst step for Seth O’Share / It was a very dark, cold night when this clueless kid ventured in there… / The trouble was he couldn’t see, he had no torch that could be lit, / As soon as he made that first step he fell into a bottomless pit.

Godlike Birds: / The Greek/Roman god Apollo was the god of the sun, the god of poets, and the leader of muses.
