Hi All!! i’m back!!!! XD The story behind Paint Yourself: / This will be my task for Oct, to paint this house myself. i hope i get the blessing from the whole universe that i’d get this paint-the-bloody-house project done next month. am getting sick oh trying to get this painting done, and having people delaying me and all the not yet-s!!! argh!! One of 26 images for a new manuscript for a children’s picture book…… this is a combination of photography, vector, drawings and a special recipe for the overall effect. I wanted to stay with the shadows because I love the challenge of allowing little ones to use their imagination to visualize the character they want to see. I started this manuscript with my youngest as my inspiration, she loves cupcakes. I had a blast writing the Lilliput picture book and my kids really enjoyed it. I am really proud of all the hard work and how it turned out and I cannot wait until it finds a home at a house. Until then I want to keep writing and make up the illustrations. I love the challenge and the expression on my kids faces with the images that I turn out. btw…. / The cupcake is actually a first attempt over a year ago to design vector art. I never deleted it, thank goodness :).

“Listen a hundred times; ponder a thousand times; speak once.” / - TURKISH PROVERB My son Kane had no idea I was photographing him at this time…He was just wondering sweetly along a path in a local parkland area when suddenly he stopped and leaned on the fence. I honestly could not believe what I was seeing through my viewfinder when he did it. Then when I saw the photograph it just blew me away. Kane is 3 years old in this photograph. This is my all time favourite photograph I’ve taken with my DSLR to date. Played with the colour version in photoshop and am very pleased with the outcome. Yesterday and today I work on this painting of a dog (I think it is some kind of Spaniel). I really wanted to exceed myself with this one. Mainly I make paintings with a neutral background, but this time I really wanted a theme. So I turned on some nice classical music which immediatly brought my in the mood for this painting, but than again, music is painting with notes hahaha. The photo really captured that moment when someone calls their dog and they look up at you just a moment before they jump up and run towards you. As I did not like the background in the photo I tried to make my own background out of several other photo’s. It was really hard to blend in the dog with the background with his shadow, but also because the dog is in a somewhat different style than the background. I have the painting as my desktop background and I just cannot stop watching, to me that is a good sign ;-) Best regards, Odwin

Ahh summer has arrived early for some of us this year. After a day at the beach last weekend, I was able to get that good old feeling back that only summer can bring! These kids were playing around at the beach, and I couldn’t help but be reminded of a time in life when going to the beach, making a sand castle, digging a hole to fill when tide comes in, finding something living a rock and burying someone in sand were the best things you could ever do. Life’s simple pleasures. I live for a sunny day.
