At the gentle suggestion of one LJ Maxx, I uploaded this darker version of “Horse Montage II” for entry into the Challenge Cafe Black & White challenge. / The lighter version showing on the right is uploaded as “Horse Montage II”. If you like it better, just click on the lighter image to be taken there. This is a composite of three photos, a sculpture of the herd (by a local artist I am told), a close-up of just one of the horses, and a wagon in my sister’s yard. /

This was taken at Sheep River Falls when several kayakers came through. Some portaged around the falls. A couple of them made the jump.

Another of my Kananaskis (foothills of the Rockies) shots. It was one of those days where every shot was gold-plated. / Minor exposure adjustment only.
-
Now this IS my desktop photo and is one of my favorites, obviously. / I just wish I had taken this at a higher resolution. / The Kananaskis is the foothills area of the Rockies southwest of Calgary Alberta. There is a wonderful road from Longview to Canmore which has some of the most spectacular and available scenery for shutterbugs. A sunny day is just a recipe for a wonderful day of photography.

Peggy’s Cove is one of the most photographed locations in the world located in Nova Scotia, Canada. This tiny inlet boasts some spectacular scenery including huge glacial rocks, a tiny village of 40 inhabitants, and particularly the lighthouse. / The crashing Atlantic Ocean surf on these lovely rocks is fabulous.

Caught this storm on the horizon on the way home tonight. It is reminiscent of some captures I have seen of hurricanes…. Hope none of our neighbors suffered any damage.

Taken from my living room window. Natural shot with contrast enhancement only.

Oh, my pa-pa, to me he was so wonderful / Oh, my pa-pa, to me he was so good / No one could be, so gentle and so lovable / Oh, my pa-pa, he always understood. Gone are the days when he could take me on his knee / And with a smile he’d change my tears to laughter Oh, my pa-pa, so funny, so adorable / Always the clown so funny in his way / Oh, my pa-pa, to me he was so wonderful / Deep in my heart I miss him so today. / —-Compliments of Eddie Fisher --— This is my wonderful father, Horace, on the left. He passed away at age 82 in 1984, and I still miss him terribly. He was a quiet and peaceful man, with a fun streak. With him is my Mom’s brother, Henri, who just celebrated his 95th Birthday on October 7/08 and we traveled to help celebrate this milestone. You can see the mischievous smiles on both these guys who liked to have a good time. / This photo was taken by my Grandfather, Charles Bourassa, who started the Souvenir Photo Studio with his father.

I’m pretty sure this was an old McCormick combine hiding in the tall grass. / Taken at Radville , Saskatchewan Oct. 4/08 / I remember when my childhood sweetheart, Betty Dionne, got up in class once to read a story about her Grandfather. She said he had actually invented the threshing machine/combine but McCormick stole the idea and patented it first.

Reworked photo previously removed. / Just increased the contrast to highlight the father and his 2 sons and the beautiful sunset on the Glenmore Reservoir. / I’ve always liked this shot and felt it deserved a better fate than its last showing.
