This is all about lies and deceptions… / a bouquet not just with flowers – showing people dont always make clear their feelings, they could have something else in mind. This image is the 1st in a series of 3….. My inspiration behind this are all the lovely wedding images that I see; full of hope, happiness and love, but as we all know the divorce rate is very high and unfortunately many of the beautiful and happy couples divorce… It makes me wonder how would these couples feel if they knew that a few years down the road and a couple of children later, their union would end in divorce. These are the emotions I have tried to capture and portray in my series. And I would like to add a huge thank you to my model and best friend who was also my inspiration as she too recently divorced but was still brave enough to get back into her beautiful wedding dress for this shoot.

This sweet flower girl portrait started with an image of my daughter and took several hours to complete. Several layers of florals and vines, in various transparencies, embossing effects and textures were added. I also did air brushing, oil brush work, and drew in all of the hair by hand. Shot this photo in late summer in Oregon. Used Corel Painter Essentials 4 and PSCS3 to create an oil painted look. Used the thick paint>oilpain>tapered camelhair brush in different sizes to create a looser, painterly style.

My intentions with this bouquet is for my dear friend here, coppertrees aka Vickie – who just had hand surgery on Monday… / She was so supportive for me during my healing process, just wanting to pay it forward ;) / As a fellow artist, can’t imagine life one-handed – thank goodness for PC’s…here’s hoping you are up and raising heck again soon sis…love ya!!! This one is about the connection we have with our loved ones, roses always speak volumes about beauty, love, romance…......and wanting to connect…...what happens we we give and receive roses, why do we give and receive them…..it’s really sentimental stuff…..ahh where would we be without all that roses say for us, through us, about us, to others :) I hope you like my “Sweet Rosie”.....these roses are for you :)
