My first attempt at a soft waterfall, albeit handheld and within muttering distance of someone who sounded like he knew what he was doing!!! / So with a few attempts that ended up on the virtual ‘cutting room floor’ I think I’ve managed one that is passable. / Taken at Mt Tomah Botanical Gardens in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney … on a photography outing with Warren Williams who was visiting from Sth Africa. SEcond version – following Boz’s suggestion, cropped to allow the waterfall to fill the frame (and also remove a lighter distracting rock!) / / exp: 0.250s / ap: f16 / ISO: 160 / WB: Auto / No polarizer (perhaps a mistake as is was sunny) / Hand held / / It was a tad overexposed but RAW processing worked a treat. On a visit to the Jardin Botanique in Montreal I was captivated by the Chinese Garden. Various ponds and streams had huge floating islands of lily pads. But it was not until I rested that I discovered these two lily pads and the reflections, just over the side of the bench I was sitting on. Taken in macro mode.
