Featuring my daughter Siena, Bored Intersection is one of those moments you get when travelling overseas with small children. Resting on a balustrade with head in arm, she gathers some momentum before propelling her small frame onward. What you find fascinating doesn’t actually connect with a six year old – “What you mean all those beautiful perfectly placed graphic signs aren’t doing it for you…. I ask politely?”

Title: Bored / Camera: D80 / Capture Date: 08/07/2007 / Dimensions: 3872×3135 / Exposure: 1/4 sec at f/45.6 / Focal Length: 195mm / ISO: 500 / Filter: None / Flash: None / Tripod: None / Uploaded Date: 08/07/2007 / Comments: White tiger at the aquarium in Houston. This is why I do not like seeing animals in zoos or cages. Wouldn’t you be bored if you were a jungle animal and you were put in a cage like this? They are beautiful, but I would prefer they were free. © 2007 Charles Dobbs Photography. All photographs and artworks in this portfolio are copyrighted and owned by the artist, Charles Dobbs. My best pal, Lenny the Lab. / He was the best guard dog ever, used to drown intruders in slobber.
Featured in Digital Artists United The birth of a star is often witnessed by other heavenly bodies in the night sky. Look into the starry night and you’ll be surprised by what you see. Enjoy the stillness, peer into the dark bits in between the stars. See as far as you can. The nebula background to the left is based on a single NASA image. The model is Dollybeck – who just happens to have hair as red as the original NASA image. I’m listed in her portfolio as Ben Timages. After combining the two photos in Photoshop, I opened it in Painter and hand painted the star-burst effect. It isn’t a filter!! (You can see the individual brush strokes in large versions of this image.) The proceeds of all sales go to World Vision, an organisation dedicated to looking after children in Third World countries. .... EXCEPT, while it still runs through Phoenix Appeal, these proceeds will go to the RED CROSS VICTORIAN BUSHFIRE APPEAL. Check out my web site for twisted IRONy metal sculpture.

I’m not the monkey’s uncle. Are you?
If I had one of these hats, I’d probably be of the same inclination.
Can happen to many office people, that you wish it was already five pm, killing the time with the tools available on your desktop. Best demonstrated in the opening scene of the movie About Schmidt, where Jack Nicholson plays a man waiting till its five, after that moment he is retired and not coming back in the office for work anymore. In my zazzle shop you can find the same design showed on different models, colours and the backside printed with logo and instruction. Plus they print larger and their quality of printing is very good! And some others…

A story from Cambodia: I met the girl in the red pyjamas on a hot day in one of Angkor’s busy temples. Although we ended up spending a nice amount of time getting to know each other, this photo was taken before she’d seen me sitting across the hallway. Her mother was busy selling incense to the tourists in a hurry to get through and see the sights- and the girl in red pyjamas sat still and well behaved. What happened next is here
