  • A photo taken at Topsail Hill Preserve Park near Destin, Florida.

  • Just thought I would show the world a rare photo. My hubby and I were driving back from the beach in Suburbia Mandurah. I had just put my camera away (Never put your camera away!!) and around the next corner were four Boomers opposite houses, two of them having a playfight. My hubby backed the car up while i madly got my camera out, I didn’t have time for anything else and I took this pic through the car window. ( A bit blurry but still a good photo I think) If I had got out of the car they would have hopped away for sure. Hope you all like this little bit of Australiana. :+)

  • Santa arrives at an outback house with his six white boomers on Christmas Eve. / Christmas card with an Australian flavour.

  • Alaska Aces Hockey Team Mascot.

  • These two are regulars on Wednesday swing nights at the casino in Gulfport, Florida. Lesson from seven to eight, then we jump and jive ‘til midnight. It’s a lot of fun and great exercise. As baby boomers are getting older and have more free time, dancing is making a comeback all over the country.

  • Me,hamming it up. I was around one year old.

  • Me as a wee baby.

  • This elderly woman sits at the window and contemplates the world outside. She does not see far beyond the window frame because her world has diminished considerably. Two years ago she was officially diagnosed with dementia after a life threatening surgery and long hospital stay. However, her family and friends noticed a difference in her personality over the last several years. Once a proud and hard working single mom, she raised two children during the 60’s and 70’s at a time when single parenthood was not as widely accepted as it is today. At present, she is reduced to little more than the passive demeanor of a quiet child. She is aware of the reduction in both her mental and physical abilities. She also understands that she is helpless to change anything. / It takes great courage to face the inevitable. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia; it accounts for 64 per cent of all dementias. For example right now in the US, Alzeihmer’s has surpassed diabetes and is the sixth leading cause of death. As baby boomers are rapidly approaching the age of retirement it is believed that 10 million baby boomers will develop Alzheimer’s in their lifetime. Currently, there are more than 24 million people in the world with dementia—this is estimated to rise to 81 million by the year 2040.6 / Statistics taken from both the Canadian and American Alzeihmer’s Society. / Published by Redbubble in Compassion, Courage and Friendship book October 2008 / Compassion, Courage & Friendship Top Ten in the Mood & Ambience, The Seated Human challenge, July 2009 / Featured in the Nirvana group October 2008 / Featured in the ImageWriting group November 2008 / Featured in the RB Buyer’s Booth November 2008 / Featured in the Stillness Speaks group November 2008 / Featured on RB homepage on November 25/08 / The Fine Art of Photography

  • Another late October Atlantic Storm and I was heading for Peggy’s Cove, a little fishing village in Nova Scotia, Canada, when I decided to hike off through the woods and get down to the shore for some shots of the ocean starting to kick up it’s heels. The offshore reef provided a perfect place for this boomer to crash and throw up a nice plume of water. For a lover of storms, it was the start of a perfect day! / Sony DSCF828 camera

  • A gloomy and wild day, made all the more magical by thundering surf that pounded against the weathered rocks. As the rain threatened and the waves catapulted over the rock ledge, the salt spray washed over and through my soul. Nature at it’s most pure. Boomerang Beach, NSW north coast.
