They’ve been out fishing for five long days. Day and night the nets were cast, but the harvest was poor. The fish caught was much less than expected, but hopefully just enough for the Master to pay a small Christmas Bonus to the Crew. Less than last year’s, but together with their share of the catch, it should be adequate enough to see them through most of the Christmas-time expenses. The rough weather they encountered while at sea gave them a few bumps, but these were soon forgotten at the sight of their families on the jetty, just as soon as they approached the mooring spot at the small Fishing Village of Marsaxlokk. Christmas is just three days away and the forcasted rough weather will surely not see them out at sea for another week or so. Good job….they need to spend a few days with their families. This could be their first Christmas together for the last three or four years. The fish has already been loaded onto the truck, and the couple of hours spent cleaning the boat to make it ship-shape again and secure enough were well-worth the effort. All they could think of now is a well-earned rest.

I haven’t been back to my usual fox location since mid Spring – partly because the place is so overgrown I wouldn’t be able to spot a fox if there were any still there. I have noticed a red fox on my way to Mt Evans a few times, but I’ve never been in a position to get a decent shot. Last weekend, though, I spotted the fox and happened to be cruising by slowly enough that I was able to pull over and grab a couple of quick shots before the fox fled into the woods. He did give me a few nice poses in that brief time. I already had the TC on the 300, so all my shots were close in portraits, but at least I had some gorgeous light (an advantage to my early starts). Maybe I can eventually develop a photographic relationship with this fox like I have with some others.. It’s ridiculous what they are doing more and MORE of now with Blue Ray over regular DVD… anyone else noticed almost always when they release them both at the same time, that Blue ray gets ALL the extras/bonus features and DVD gets NOTHING or next to nothing?... it’s bullshit. talk about pushing blu ray onto people just so they can see all these extras it would take mere minutes to put onto dvd as well… but NOOOOOOOOOOoooOOoooo IF you want to see the extras you HAVE to be a blu ray owner now, like that’s so fuckin cheap in todays economic downturn to have to buy a player and a HD tv to watch it on… plus I’ve watched blu ray in the shops and I don’t even like the overly sharp scratchy film grain looking picture anyway :S might as well count the pimples on their faces as the only advantage I see in it lol It’s just another big company plow to push blu ray onto people and to screw existing dvd owners… Not happy, but that’s my 2 cents on bullshit blu ray lol Jay.
