...I’m sure there’s one in there somewhere, I just have to find it. / I’m thinking, after looking at the photos around Red Bubble, that my eye for a great photo leaves a lot to be desired, and I have a lot of work in front of me to get up to speed. / The work on here is incredible, and if I can get to half the level that most of you are at, then I will be very happy. / Is photography of this level a natural talent, or is it really something that can be learned? / Are there any good part-time course around that help? Or am I just a lost cause? LOL.

We finally got our home computer back – but something still isn’t right – I have been trying to get all my ‘million’ pics off the computer and either onto cd’s or memory sticks but now I can’t even do that! I have been a little busy here at work too so haven’t been able to spend as much time with you all as I wish. I am trying though. Plus I have pics on my work computer I am trying to get removed also but I am just getting so discouraged with trying to figure things out! Now as if that isn’t enough on my plate – I think I broke a bone in my right wrist; Although I am able to type this and do a few things it is still painful and I need to be careful. I will be in contact my dear friends! Thanks for your friendships! Means so much!

Today received our copy from the Fight Cancer Foundation. / In it is an article about our donation of 10 framed photogrphs to the Bone Marrow Ward of the Royal Melbourne Hospital. / Staff have been getting feed back on how greatly the images on the walls of the rooms have enhanced the environment for those going through such a traumatic time in thier lives. / I was a “guest” there just on 1 year ago having a BMT, looking at blank bleak walls…when I just happen to have enlargement images come back from the lab, so we blue tacked them to the wall…through those images I was able to escape to the Otways, Outback, Craigs Hut and a host of other favourite locations. / It is so great to know that others are now getting the same benifit. / Readers are being directed to my redbubble portfolio to view images and I have had a number of people advising they intend to buy on redbubble. VICKI HAS ADDED THE IMAGES BELOW TO VIEW…Thanks Vicki:-) /

  • 9 June - Featured Works and Art Exhibition Update!
    by taiche

Many many thanks to the following group and the hosts that have chosen to share my wares! (and Hertsman). !http://images-2.redbubble…

Many many thanks to the following group and the hosts that have chosen to share my wares! (and Hertsman). Exhibition Hot Press! 5 June: / The opening night was last night (photographs to follow!) and I can only say a mega thankyou for the advice that was shared with me as I feel the opening night went wonderfully to say the least! Ironically the works that I sold last night are not featured on Redbubble as they were framed behind glass before I opened my portfolio to the world last October. On the opening night I achieved an reservation of a picture depicting two african women, and money up front sales of / - a set of four abstract dancers, / - an abstract of boats at sea, / - an abstract musician / - a galloping horse in chalk, / - an abstract soul singer / - a single stem tulip / - an optical illusion – face or flower I was given lots of advice and I used all help that I could with available resources : - the wine flowed freely / - all pictures were framed / - we advertised (about 100 people came to the opening) / - we had a visitors book for comments / - I produced cards and brochures displaying my works on Redbubble and Zazzle A gamble that worked was having a prize draw on one work of art. We charged a set amount for a ticket and put numbers in to a hat – the ticket was drawn and winner announced at the end of the first night. / I did not get the full value of the work of art but I made a couple I had never met prior to last night very happy and know that word of mouth will spread …..we will know more tonight! Thanks again! 6 June The exhibition is attacting lots of English which is a new experience for the venue …hope this continues beyond my exhibition! Sold an image of three african water carriers behind glass: one of my earlier works which had beauty in its simplicity. People are continuing to add to the Visitors Book and one visitor in particular loved my take on the Desperate Man ….it was excellent to hear this in person and to be there and see the reactions and expressions on people’s faces. Let us see what Sunday will bring! 9 June / So, halfway throught the exhibition and 15 (YES 15) original works of art SOLD to a range of people from a range of countries- international acclaim and fame looms as my works spread across the globe ….lol. Germany, England and Turkey are countries where people with very very good taste live! Comments are being placed in the Visitors book, people are taking my Contact Cards and lets hope that when the holidaying ends that they look up taiche on Redbubble and get to read the big THANKYOU for purchasing my work. For anyone that may be exhibiting their works 66% of my sales are works behind glass ….I am speechless as I thought the canvas works would appeal more: you learn something new every day!

Wow it is time to say THANK YOU SO MUCH! / / !http://i101.photobucket.c…

Wow it is time to say THANK YOU SO MUCH! / / THIS group I love. Why? YES this was the first group to recognize my work and feature my series Elevator Instructions…How To Live In their first Artist Showcase!! Now that for me was a complete HONOR! I was also blessed to have many of my Americans Part ! featured in their Obama Stuff showcase. Core and the Hosts really gave me some confidence and recognition I have never had before and since then I believe because of this amazing feeling I got from them and all of you at that point, I have been expanding and finding so much satisfaction in my work. But even more I must tell you that the Hosts of C.O.R.E. taught me how to be a better host in my groups and to have FUN AND how it is I could expose more artists and lend that good feeling one gets when one is choosen to be featured. I have alot to work on when it comes to all those special featured showcases ..but I have begun to see how fun it is to Host and I look forward to the hosting more than I ever have before. SPECIAL THANKS TO USHNA SARDAR AND THE YELLOW FURY *I LOVE YOU8

  • An image uploaded to Wikimedia by J.J. and placed within the Public Domain here If it be helpin’, start yer sentence wi’ a “Arr, me hearty,” in a deep, throaty voice — ye’ll find that the rest be comin’ much easier. The perfect image with which to celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day (ITLAPD) is a parodic holiday invented in 1995 by John Baur (Ol’ Chumbucket) and Mark Summers (Cap’n Slappy), of Albany, Oregon, who proclaimed September 19 each year as the day when everyone in the world should talk like a pirate. For example, an observer of this holiday would greet friends not with “Hello,” but with “Ahoy, me hearty!” The holiday, and its observance, springs from a romanticized view of the Golden Age of Piracy. • COLLECTING-WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO COLLECT?

COLLECTING Collecting can become so addictive, especially for an artist. My found objects and things are the inspiration and starting point for most of my artwork and ideas. When I see something; it can trigger of an instant idea and give me a vision to work with.I think this is why I love museums too as display and arranging objects are an important part of my work. I have been collecting since I was born. I used to hide stuff under my bed in boxes as a child .As an adult I’m still putting stuff into boxes and plastic bags and other strange things. I view my collections as arrangements. They are all art installations scattered around my place as well as material for use in my arts projects Walking through the streets to the local shop I always come home with something foot trodden. A piece of paper, packaging, a bright piece of plastic, glass all will be used in my art eventually. When I travel overseas (much to the sometimes embarrassment to friends and family) I pick up off the ground, bottle tops, lolly papers, wires bright bits of plastic, even if an item disturbs me I’ll bring it home.On a tour once in Europe the whole busload of passengers collected bottle tops for me. My stuff may brood for years in a dark space or cupboard till I come across it again sending me off on another project. On my last trip to Paris I came home with 15 kilo of junk. I collected baguette bags, bits of string, stones, free ad cards, labels from food items, torn posters, a book and papers from a bin. All sorts of ephemera is precious to me. I collect found photographs, as they tell a story about people and places I’ll never know about.I make up my own stories. I collect found images, negatives, scientific stuff, equations, wire, tin, bones, animal skeletons, fur, hair, watches, old mobile covers, eye glasses, shrivelled things, found numbers and fonts from keyboards, magazines and advertising, boxes, packaging, all sorts paper, vintage clothes, fabrics, wall papers, shells, driftwood, snowglobes, toys, childrens books and so much more I go to op shops, cities, airports underground spaces ,beaches, garage sales, friends houses and sometimes, find stuff on EBay though, part of the fun and attraction for me is, the actual finding of a material that is discarded and thrown away. I like to recycle it into something else or, just show its beauty, as it is. Collections of stuff are also extremally important for future generations, for History. 100’s years from now someone may come across my piece of fabric, wallpaper ,lolly paper, box ,bone etc that will give them information on of how we lived in our time, in our place. Collections are also portraits of those who love to glean….. Check out Andy Warhol’s boxes and boxes of stuff he collected over his life time http://www.warhol.org/collections/archives.html

  • "The Lovely Bones" Premiere photos (Peter Jackson! Charles and Camilla!)

It was short(ish) notice, but I found out about the World Premiere / Royal Screening for the new Peter (“Lord of the Rings”) Jackson film one day before it happened. And since I’d some luck at the Last Royal Screening I attended (what with Queen Elizabeth II going to it) I decided I’d try again. Here’s how it went down: / “Tom, I’m standing here on the red carpet, Yellow Cap Guy is further up ahead, and that crazy extensible boom mike idea you had appears to be working. Good times, as long as it doesn’t rain” / Thanks a truckload, Tom. Still apparently my camera is weatherproof. Time to test that hypothesis! (Apparently the most expensive lens in my arsenal – ie. the one mounted on it right now – isn’t weatherproof. Well…. Let’s test THAT hypothesis too. This photo is of Actress Carolyn Dando, who managed to leverage a role in the production “Fatal Contact (Bird Flu in America)” into a role in a Peter Jackson film. Wow… / A guy with an umbrella, whose name is Michael Imperioli who was in “The Sopranos” and a heap of films, none of which I recognise him from. Hey, I take photos… I don’t have time to actually WATCH stuff! / “Come on Richard, you know very well that the first Lord of the Rings film was the best.” True, in my opinion. The Academy went kind of crazy-nuts and gave the third in the trilogy every award but ‘Best R’n’B release’ at the Oscars. But that’s just me… / And here he is : Director Peter Jackson, looking very dapper in a tux, and sporting an even thinner look than he had on the King Kong directors commentary back in 2005 (I mention it because ‘the list’ of celebs had him looking a lot chubbier. I hope he was recognised!) / ”You really want me to write ”For Frodo”?. Oh, like I haven’t signed that before” . Mr Jackson didn’t have a whole heap of time to sign autographs in our area, and I was unsuccessful in obtaining a signature that would have gone nicely with my Gollum + Aragorn. Never mind… he joins Quentin Tarantino and The Fonz, all of whom have snubbed me in the past 8) / Actress Susan Sarandon is HOW old? Damn.. that’s pretty impresive / Academy Award winning actress Susan Sarandon says ”I’m HOW old?? Damn… that’s pretty impressive” / Director Peter Jackson and Actress Saoirse Ronan admire the rain and the heavy camera machinery pointed at them / It’s a busy photo, but there are some interesting expressions in it. My position was good, except Peter Jackson doesn’t really present much more than a profile aspect when interviewed. And there was rain. And people moving back and forth. And stuff. / Peter Jackson. He started out with movies like ‘Bad Taste’ and ‘Meet the Feebles’, then somehow leveraged that into a middlingly unsuccessful movie called ‘The Frighteners’ starring Michael J Fox, and then somehow leveraged that into directing THE LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY. Now THAT’S how you use leverage! / ”PJ: The detail in the water droplets is fantastic! Is that CGI?? / “Interviewer: Dude, I think that’s just ordinary rain” / “PJ: Oh” / Peter Jackson also founded Weta Digital, a world-class effects house based in New Zealand. I was once on holiday in New Zealand where I had dinner with a girl who worked for Weta Digital and apparently it’s hard but fun work. / / / Actor Reese Ritchie managed to leverage a role in the widely panned ’10,000 BC’ into a role in a Peter Jackson film. More great leverage. / She’s fifteen. Time for… curfew? No, in fact Saoirse Ronan kept her promise and returned to sign autographs after finishing her interviews further up the chain of media cameras. Very commendable indeed. / Dude, let it go. She obviously doesn’t owe you five dollars / Comedian, Author, Podcaster and famous twitter-er Stephen Fry. / A bit over a year ago, I snapped the Queen herself at a premiere. This time? Another member of the family. Though sadly, I did not do as well. / That Bentley has some clean windows alright… This is Camilla…. and… I actually don’t know her last name… / With The Queen last year, I was shooting long distance, but at least unobstructed. Here, it wasn’t just a crowd in front of me, but Paps on step-ladders in from of THEM and security and red-carpet revellers in front of THEM. Still… here’s HRH Prince Charles. (Just barely!) So.. that’s another one for The Archive of Movie Premieres, which is starting to bulge with over FIFTY movie premieres, which is incidentally sufficient to provide photos for its own Calendar and even an Exhibition Until next time!

Okay I awoke around 7 am quickly dressed to go feed the dogs in the kennel. Well….that’s not exactly accurate. I woke up at 7 am and sat in the living room chair and my mom inquired did I plan to feed the dogs today…who were outside barking I guess in Dog language, “Hey come feed us.” So, then I went and dressed quickly changing from PJ’s to Layers. Well, I took one step out on the front porch which I so pain stakingly cleared of 2 feet of snow the day before. It happened so fast. One instant I was looking out at the snow scape and blue sky. Next moment I was looking up at just the blue sky. The pain followed moments later. Now normall not a problem I would just get back up slowly, battered and bruise. Well the porch was an entire sheet of inch thick ice that had dripped down from the snow on the roof. Still, I could have gotten up except…..the dogs. One dog in particular, she’s new hyper and we are still training her. Her name is Sasha. Sasha would not let me get up. Oh, no she preceeded to mount me. Yes you heard me right. So, I’m laying out on the ice covered porch defending myself from a overly rambunctious dog. I start yelling, “Mom! Mooommm!!!! Moooomm!.” Finally she ask back what’s wrong and comes to see what i’m hollering about. She sees me laying out on the front porch and asks, “What happened?” “I fell on the ice.” I reply, and by the way did I mention there was pain and a dog try to mount me. My Mom asks me, “How can I help?” I respond, “Go to the side porch and call these dogs, keep them out back until I can manage to get up!” As soon as she opened the side door and called them they took off towards her. I could hear her opening cans of food and giving it to them. I turned over painfully and crawled on the ice back into the house where I used a cane in the umbrella holder to get up. I then shouted back towards the kitchen. “Mom! Mom, I”m in and the door is closed.” She came back in the room very worried. After all I had just feel on concrete coverd with ice and was laying on my back. Now, my first thought was my knee, because it was turned and aching like a dickens. I rubbed some IcyHot on it. Problem was, the dogs still needed to be feed and I had to get myself together to get out there and do it. I took the back entrance and made my way to the storage area and retrieved the dog food. By the way everything was aching about now. I preceeded to the kennel carry the dog food. You have to bend under the bar to get inside. Right then I realize that my knee wasn’t the only thing that was injured when I fell. My lower back more specifically my tail bone screeched out in a very audible spike of pain that left me stooped over for several minutes. Of course I hollered out if for nothing else but to relieve the pressure building up in my lungs at the sudden shocking pain. Finally I was able to stand back up and hobble my way through snow and ice back to the house. Now I’m safe inside and warm and not moving much. LMAO What and adventure and a way to start the day. Thanks for reading and tune in next time to more adventureous accident prone mayhem from the mountains. LOL
