  • Lightning strike

  • Yet another storm image from the tornadic Limbscomb storm this year, but this was just before sunset when the shelf was pushing east towards the Oklahoma state line. Lucky lightning in this one. • This shot was taken at the Broadmoor resort in Colorado Springs, CO. The most amazing electrical storm came through. It was quite a ways in the distance. The cloud coverage was interesting which sat low over our heads. Lightning flashed about every three seconds. It was truly spectacular. It never rained where I was standing. Noise Reduction software applied due to the high ISO setting. I put the camera on a tripod and kept clicking. The pool house was in the foreground and Cheyenne Mountain in the background.

  • Lightning striking in the mountains behind a home in the Arizona desert.

  • This storm developed in the evening, and produced several spectacular displays of lightning, such as this bolt of lightning, that landed quite a distance from the rain area. The clouds are lit and coloured by three light sources: the lightning, both inside and outside, the blue glow of the late twilight in the west, and the orange light of the city of Lutz, Florida. /

  • Captured in Cave Creek, Arizona. Really liked the colors of the sky in this shot. / Other lightning photos: / / / /

  • During a severe storm in Santa Maria, California, USA. Twin downstrokes and one of the last shots I took that evening. I was ecstatic to see this shot come off of my camera. This photograph has put me on the map and is one of my best sellers. This was taken with a 30 second exposure set to f/22 at 24mm. • LOL… Ok “NOT REALLY”! you all have heard like birds of a feather, peas in a pod, well my husband is covered in grease half the time, so I figured what’s more suiting then a nut and a bolt. I am sure he would tell you I am the nut… It is not true in the least bit!! / Our rings have stood the test of time, mine has been cut off my finger due to exstreem toximia during pregnancy. The prongs have also been reinforced due to my harsh work environment. My husbands bears all the scars of his labors… But I wouldn’t trade them for the world… OK wait ..yes I would for a 1 carrot princess cut… / canon 40Dslr

  • At last! We’ve had four brilliant storms through here in the last few weeks and I’ve missed each of them. Man these have been tricky buggers – short, very violent, straight overhead – and I’ve miss-timed them each time. The problem has been go out too early and the gear gets soaked and you can’t photograph anyway because of the rain. Leave it a few minutes tool late and that’s it – show’s over folks. / Three times I’ve gone tearing out as the rain eases off with huge, spectacular bolts going off all around and then when I get the tripod out EACH TIME (I kid you not) the moment the camera has gone on the tripod that’s it – the bolts stop dead. I have been teased mercilessly! But this time – gotcha! / This is a single exposure. Two bolts on either side and one overhead – doorway or what!! / And to get an idea of the scale of these bolts those lights off to the left are perched on top of 100m cliffs. And the reddish clouds on the left are reflecting the light from Sydney which is just out of shot. / Taken on the track to Bundeena Cliffs, Royal National Park, Sydney Australia Canon 1Ds MkIII / Tv: 30secs / Av: f/5.0 / ISO: 200 / FL: 45mm

  • Did you actually wear a purple ribbon on June 3? Who cares, no one will know either way. And if you wear this t-shirt it will look you did and you will be so cool that all the penguins will come and hang out with you.
