  • Kids from a family whose rooftop was directly next to our bathroom window perform a dance, carefully rehearsed and articulately performed. Swirling hands and lanky movements from the older sister and they hum and sing along with their motions. Their younger brother holds a picture my partner Rebecca had drawn for him. There’s something about this picture that freaks me out. I don’t know what it is.

  • Ultra Fractal 4.04 Bollywood is the what the Indian movie/entertainment industry has been dubbed. Indian-produced movies generally have big colors, flowing dresses, and opulence, which I hope I have represented here with my spirals, jewels, and flowers. And let’s not forget those big dance numbers. Sam actually knew some Indian guys who were Bollywood dancers at one time. It’s sort of sad, but I got the idea for this fractal from this YouTube video.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZA1NoOOoaNw I just sort of ran from there after more research and viewing some more Bollywood pictures and such to completely formulate my ideas for this fractal. Enjoy! Full-size for detail!

  • Thanks to comments about my image Eye on Bollywood being not perfect I have found a “more perfect” version. This image has both hands well within the frame – although they are still not perfect because there is some movement and blur there. But at least they have not been cut off. Moreover, I think the pose and the facial expression here are pretty good too. So why did I miss this earlier? Because it was at first even more imperfect. The original image was about 2 stops brighter and large areas of the girl’s body were all “whited” out. Thanks to Lightroom 2.0 – and thanks to Fuji’s Super CCD sensor – I managed to correct the exposure and skin color. Moreover, the original image had lots of little spots of light in the bottom right corner. A few might be ok and even add to the image. But in this case, there were far too many. So I had to do much cleaning up. So here is the more perfect version. Thank you, Danny and Steven, for setting me such high standards and pushing me towards perfection ;-) —-

  • I am very intrigued with Asian Art & Culture. The title(and some of the images) are taken from an exhibit that was around a few years ago which I got from one of those postcard ads. I think it pretty much describes this collage(besides being a great title:- It’s also inspired by “Bollywood” movies. /

  • Wandering through Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India, we came across a film crew setting up for a musical scene. They allowed us to sit & watch them in action & take as many photos as we wanted. The Director was pretty cool, dressed in a fluorescent-green shirt with heavy make-up on his face, lips glossy…very Bollywood & very cool !!
