  • My intention when I did this painting was to take an everyday situation – like looking out for the post-man and turning it into a vibrant and alive moment in time! / No matter how small and trivial things may seem – there is always something else going on: one just has to take a look at that poor fish! I lik this painting, my friends say it makes them feel like ”...putting on their dancing shoes!” / (It’s a frustrating fact, but for some reason this painting just won’t upload to the right proportions – it’s living it’s title to the full – and just NOT conforming!) Please visit my blog for more of my artwork or for inquiries on original paintings if I still have them available.

  • Abstract photograph of a flower

  • Pastel On Board – Approximate size 65×45 cm. 12.12.2007 Dabbling with pastels again… wow, alot more challenging than paint! Oops, I just remembered, this is the finished version of ‘untitled’ which has been loitering my pages for the past two weeks. Below is the previous unfinished work which received overwhelming support – thought I would post it for those of you who wanted to compare or couldn’t remember… /

  • / Leilani at Sea / Dingy Daisy Leilani at Sea was created on textured canvas paper using an array of mediums including ink, pastel, acrylics and charcoal. The colours shown here are from the original painting. I am a great lover of boats and being out to sea, far far away!

  • Driving along today I spotted this container, so had to go back home and get my camera! I have no idea what the chinese words say, but I can hazard a guess. I was drawn in by the clean strong lines created by the late afternoon sun contrasting with the grungy rusty bits down below. More in this series: /

  • I did this one last night …I have just been going into my mind trying to let go of bad moments and sift though the good stuff ….I guess find the magic I love the water ..always have …and when I was younger i found the back of someones property that had the best dock I could sit on ….I would sit there some morning and think being lost at sea would be the best thing ….sailing to differenrt lands as they came …..it was my time that I could relax laying on my stomach hands in the water and think peaceful thoughts of a life much bigger than mine. 14”x11” on wood panel

  • Mixed media, mostly acrylic on canvas with a couple of heart shaped buttons and my clothing label as a signature. This painting is an expression of the heart of me which is no longer bound by the persecutions or misunderstandings of others who label me too creative, extreme or mystical because I dare to dream, I dare to love….. Knightly Vision Amongst the flowers of the Lord’s garden I see another figure approaching, being unaccustomed to any company in the field of love I am roused from my reflections and as my eyes watch the approaching figure I see a knight in blue with a royal emblem on his chest, a golden shimmer of the royal seal catches my gaze. The Lord draws closer to me and watches my reactions as this new figure approaches and His face is filled with warmth, I see the warmth of the Lord mirrored in this knightly figure and any apprehensions slip away like water. / I see his face now. His tender eyes meet mine and my heart skips. What is this manner of knight who approaches that stops my heart and causes me to draw my breath in? I look for the Lord’s eyes to comfort me, fearing it may be but a dream or an illusion sent (yet again) from the Tempter. But this time, I am reassured with a powerful rush of warmth and peace. / His sword, the familiar sword of truth, gleams from his side. Again I feel my soul comforted by the sight of the Lord’s armour for I recognize the clothing of God, I recognize my fellow warrior for Christ. But his gaze fills my soul. / No shallow, empty soul is this / Pools of light they do emit / Shining love in God’s raiment / A gentleman, a Christian friend He sets himself alongside me / Our eyes have locked, no words can be / My heart has caused my breath to flee / He notices and smiles tenderly His arms reach forth to embrace my weakness / I cannot speak in my female meekness / His nearness sends my heart to pounding / I long for his kiss to start herald’s sounding He senses the yearning that my trembling gives away / Leaning towards me, his lips start to say / More than words could ever convey / Safe in his presence my fears have no place Just one moment, just this time / Oh let it be so, oh let it be mine / Here in this garden where no evil can enter / Where the Lord is our guardian, our protector Away from the world, away from it’s pain / A Knight and his Lady, one and the same….. /

  • Honest, he was at the zoo! He was at Twycross watching the elephants.

  • Boat Hull in closeup. Only a slight contrast in editing, nothing more. / I loved the bold yellow of the (newly painted) top half against the grainy painted textures of the bottom of the hull, after it had been stripped back to repaint. /

Koppitz is best known for his works of the human figure including his iconic Bewegungsstudie, “Motion Study” and his use of the nude in natural settings.

  • / We stopped by Minter Gardens on our way home from our roadtrip to Harrison BC in October…..I took a couple of photographs before I realized that the garden was actually closed to the public and we were not supposed to be there (oops). The original photograph was taken using the pop art filter in camera, which made the colour looks quite psychedelic . I have added several texture layers and have desaturated the colours a bit (believe it or not). I realize this won’t appeal to everyone, but as a lover of strong and bold colour I am kind of partial to it :))

  • / Okanagan Lake, Penticton BC. November 2009.
