  • Bernard Bolan at the National Folk Festival, 2007 This work was presented as part of the “Curse of the Microphone” Exhibition at the 2008 National Folk Festival and the Collingwood Gallery Photography Exhibition(11-25th September 2008).

  • From my series, “Confessions of a LIttle Lady.” Acrylic on canvas. / Little Lady is cute but naughty – saucy, sassy and a little bit malicious. She gives voice to the thoughts we dare not speak aloud, the quips we wish we’d thought of, the melancholy longings of modern life, and does so in a wardrobe to die for. Proof that the cuter you are – the more you can get away with. / Enter the world of Little Lady – but cross her at your peril!!

  • T. Rex’s very flamboyant front man Marc Bolan was one of the most innovative pop stars of his time. I was a great fan. So much so that I did two more of him, and am even considering a fourth! / This portrait was completed in charcoal and pastels. Framed prints, posters and canvas wraps available from bigemptywall.co.uk

  • Marc Bolan. Here is portrait no.2. Gorgeous man with a sensitive face. We like sensitive, don’t we girls? Charcoal and pastels portrait. Framed prints, posters and canvas wraps available from bigemptywall.co.uk on request.

  • Portrait number 3 of T. Rex’s founder and front man. Flamboyant and wonderful. / Charcoal and pastels portrait. Framed prints, posters and canvas wraps available from bigemptywall.co.uk on request.

  • The vision of youth that knows no bounds and never stands still, Matt Hughes creates music with the natural potential of turning the old anew. / (Pen & ink, pencil and digital)

  • Innovative and irrepressible, Marc Bolan was born to boogie. This portrait pays homage to the many moods of the mystical rocker. / (Pen & ink, pencil and digital)

I am in the process of making some of the shots from my “Dead ‘N’ Alive” Classic Rock photography exhibition available as T-Shirts here on redbubble, for the very first time. Great for the discerning collector or just to wear and have people say, “WOW, where did you get that?” ... “Or isn’t that…?” / Starting off with Lou Reed, Bob Marley, Marc Bolan (T.Rex) and Frank Zappa. Keep an eye out as more of them come online. A great gift for the old rocker in your life. Very reasonably priced for unique images of your favourites.

  • T.Rex Playing in Sydney – 1973 / Hot Love

  • Marc being intense at one of his Sydney concerts in 1973 / From my* “Dead ‘N’ Alive”* Collection

  • Marc Bolan from T.Rex in concert Sydney Australia, from my “Dead ‘N’ Alive” exhibition set. / One of a series of photographs I took in my early days of photography. / All shot on film using a Nikormat FTN. A wonderful hard working film camera. / In those days there was little or no security and no “Crash Barriers”, so I would make my way to the front of the stage and shoot. / Scanned from the original negatives or transparencies. I went to both the Sydney gigs and managed to survive the crush, this was pre-mosh, at the front of the stage. T.Rex were at their absolute peak at this time, selling millions of records around the world. Marc was the ultimate showman and played the audience as well as he played the guitar. Also available as an image in my redbubble calendar /

  • Proceeds from the sale of the image will go to Bush Heritage Australia which is involved in conserving our forests and landscape for the future generations to come. / —-—-—-—-—-— Just a bit of editing done on my image Lotus clicked at Botanical Gardens, South Yaara…..its an amazing place, so peaceful so quite very close to the heart of the city Melbourne…. and Ya….u can also see some files in there.. I tried to get rid of the flies before I could take a pic.. but these flowers were too far.. I couldn’t do anything…

  • Bolan Lake. Southern Oregon. Canon EOS 1000 / Lense EFS 18-55mm

  • / Bolan was a self made pop icon, and one of the original Glam Rock stars in England. Born Marc Feld, he had a brief career as a superstar with his band T-Rex, but was eventually reduced to hosting a Children’s TV series. On the night of September 16, 1977, Marc had dinner with his love Gloria Jones, with whom he had a 2-year-old son Rolan. After much merriment, Gloria got behind the wheel of her purple Mini 1275 GT (license plate FOX 66IL) to drive Marc and herself home. This was about 4am. Shortly thereafter, the Mini was traveling on Queens Ride, at the southern edge of Barnes Common, south London. The Mini left the road as it crossed a hump backed bridge, shot through the fence and smashed into a sycamore tree. Marc’s side took the impact, and he was thrown into the back of the car, and killed instantly. Gloria was unconscious but alive. / 771 Views Nov 09

  • A makeshift raft floats in the clear water of Bolan Lake, Oregon, as rain begins to fall.

  • Marc Bolan, as if you could see his voice .. presumably The lyrics are a bit hard to provide, as really you’d need the whole Electric Warrior tape to match what goes on in my head, not to mention wherever Children of the Revolution and Telegram Sam and Hot Love come from. (sigh) What a voice! The point being, I don’t know which one to choose, despite the title! Well, now it is / Cosmic Dancer because it’s the first one I could find on YouTube, which is sadly lacking in T-Rex songs; or, at least, easily accessible ones!
