~This is more of my Bohemian/Gypsy series, in color. This was so much fun. I just love rummaging through our big box full of beautiful old scarfs & tapestries and watching my 8 yr old daughter just disappear into her wonder filled world of make believe…however she feels, her mood, her movements, I just sit back & take it all in with my lens. I have to say..she does make me believe… in magic, in beauty, in love. She is such an inspiration to me….

Taken on 2/19-2009 through our front window, straight from camera and slightly cropped. THIS SHOT IS FOR LOIS…..she felt the fruit skewered to my Rose Tree of China branches made the shot unique…...so we will confess, this is how we finally lured the Bohemian Waxwings to our house. While my Rose Tree of China will be covered in little pink rosey flowers in the summer….in the future during the winter months it will feature apple slices, blueberries, small bunches of grapes and orange slices. It’s really crazy what some people will do to take photos of different birds lol!! The Bohemian waxwing is a very sleek looking bird, gray to light brown with a gray belly, pointed crest, bandit-like black mask and chin, yellow pattern on black wings, the wing tips look like they were dipped in red wax, bright yellow tip of tail and rust underneath the tail, the male and female look the same, the juvenile is gray with a heavily streaked chest and lacks the red wing tips, they eat insects, berries and fruit.
