  • Out west NSW you enter bogan shire, side of the road you see this sign. Bogan has become a common word depicting people who are of yokel and/or slob types, these beer bottles help depict a “Bogan” and this is their shire.

  • Original is oil paint on canvas. Inspired by Binney Street, Euroa and every other town like her. As you can gather from the title, I had a bogan upbringing. Small towns, great life in retrospect but bugger all to do. In fairness to my hometown, there is a little more than a milkbar, pub and the co-op, but not much more, Still we had fun, sort of. For all those who are, like me at heart, repressed bogans, the cars are based on an EK or FB ute and an EH or EJ Holden ute…. you decide. Just one note, if this makes no sense I was a little pickled when I painted it.

  • Bogan pride… see it this Monday Jan 25th. / They’ll be draped in the flag, dragging it in the dirt, listening to Barnsey whilst bingeing on copious amounts of alcohol without an inkling of what Australia Day is all about! / This american-style frenzy of quasi-patriotism will be a sight to behold.
