I have recently decided that my work would be very suitable to help raise money for cervical cancer, which i had a nasty close shave with not long ago… / I have decided to create a series of photographic images using the vagina, which i will then go on to sell, donating 50% or more to cervical cancer research… anyways i will need lots of bubbly free spirited and willing lady’s (Sydney Based) to volunteer their beautiful bits for the photographs… no faces or any other body parts will be included in the photos! I want all sorts of different vagina’s ranging in size color and style so don’t be shy to get urs out, they are all unique and thats what makes each of them special and beautiful!! you lady’s will also be asked to bring 2/3 significant item of clothing/underwear/fabric or whatever else that you believe conveys your vagina’s personality.. the images will be black and white apart from your vagina (all Vagina’s will be tinted your shade of pink for cancer research kind of like the pink bow for breast cancer) and the item / I wont be able to offer money for the models as this is a fund raising piece but you can all go away with a good conscience knowing that you have contributed to saving vagina’s world wide!!! I actually do not have a digital SLR myself so if anyone is interested in lending me one and being present during the shoot (in case i get confused with how to use it… ;? ) if not this is ok i am sure i will be able to find a willing friend… anyway i wont be getting on with the photography until i have sorted out my web site and gotten onto cervical cancer research about how best to do this, but just thought i should plant the seed of interest amongst the artistic ladies of the Sydney community who may be interested… p.s. if anyone else is interested in donating their services i.e. free/discounted printing of images framing ect or anything else you can think of it would be much appreciated lots of love Emma oooppps i mean Miss Vagina Head!!! (hate to have to say this but i trust no one else will try to copy my particular vagina ideas..)

Varinia (Globalphotos) and I have started a new group called Body of Work / This group is to promote the work of one exceptional RB artist at a time – people who have a body of work – at least 12 images, works of art or pieces of writing that are consistently high quality and show an exceptional degree of creativity, technique, craft skill, thought and beauty or interest. These are the people who inspire you on RB and who you leap to add to your Watchlist when you come across them, even when their art form may be completely different to your own. / One artist will be featured each week and it is hoped that RB admins will choose from among them to feature an artist as the entire Home Page selection (ie 8 images) once per fortnight if they see fit. / Our first featured artist is the brilliant Mel Brackstone / So come and join and let a top RB artist know what you think of their body of work. Cheers Geoff

JOURNAL Well, I have just finished publishing this dateless and timeless Journal. A personal healing journal that takes you on a journey through your uniqueness and personal cyclic patterns. Our Daily Bread is an acronym, inspired by the Lord’s prayer, meant to create a journaling prescription, personalized for activating change towards a new perception on your unique “healing path”. O – Observing and noting your unique habits, in your daily routine / U – Uniting with thoughts which manifest an abundance, health, love & responsibility / R – Remembering that you deserve ALL the love, respect, joy & prosperity D – Defining your relationships with clear boundaries / A – Abounding and sharing the positive and healing knowledge you’ve acquired / I – I (SELF) am a unique individual becoming the best person I can be / L – LOVE and care for yourself and others by example / Y – You are responsible for your WILLPOWER B – Believing that the possibilities are endless, in achieving your Healing goals / R – Respect that NO one else can “fix” you – but you / E – Emote your feelings to yourself in a mirror or in your journal, as well as to others / A – Accept that there is a reason for everything, in your life’s journey / D – Divinity is present, become aware of non-logical insight and perceive intuitively This journal can be used on its own, or in conjunction with my previous ‘works’, “Sailing through the 7C’s”, “Beyond Symptoms”, and “Puzzled Isles of Spirit”, which would pursue more in-depth explanations of the workings of this journals’ purpose and function. Thanks so much for looking and taking the time to see what I have been up to…

Everything is about ENERGY; the Energy that you are producing, the Energy that you are projecting and the Energy that you are attracting. To ensure that you start each day with a high vibration of positive Life Force Energy ask yourself these five empowering questions. They will collectively awaken your Body, Mind and Soul to a higher level of vibration enabling them to work together in partnership to produce and project the most powerful and loving Energy to the Universe. This will also insure that the same level of Spiritual kindness will be magnetically drawn back to you. EVERY MORNING Ask Yourself: • How would I live this day if it were to BE my last? / • What one thing can I do today to make my life BEcome extraordinary? / • What do I have in my life to BE grateful for? / • What can I do today so that this day will BE fun? / • How can I BE of help to another person today?

Expressing, transforming and clarifying the shades of limelight that frame our body image My friend and fellow bubbler Sarah O’Rourke is part of the team co-ordinating the Mirrors Charity Art Exhibition along with Rhiannon Bulley, which is being held from the 15th to 24th October 2009 at the Mori Gallery, 168 Day Street, Darling Harbour, Sydney, the opening night is 14th October 6-8pm. The red bubble members, along with myself, who are donating art works to the Mirrors Exhibition are as follows (in no particular order): Sarah O’Rourke / Cynthia Lund Torroll / aWarr / Bec Winnel / Caitlin Shearer / Steph Granshaw / Remus Grecu / Mimi Yoon Here is a recent article which lends more of an insight into the exhibition and it’s founder Rhiannon Bulley in which I’ve had my own work Lost and Found featured, and I’d like to take the opportunity to say thank you to Rhiannon for featuring my work on both blogs. I am donating my framed original painting of Hidden Treasure pictured above with the chook to the exhibition The event also has the support of medical groups, including the Centre for Eating and Dieting Disorders, the Eating Disorders Association (Qld) and The Butterfly Foundation, to whom all funds from sales will be donated. I’d like to take this opportunity to wish Sarah and Rhiannon and all the other artists involved the very best in the exhibition and I hope it’s a huge success.

Next week will see the opening of Mirrors, an art exhibition that’s about more than just pretty pictures on a gallery wall… / Supporting Melbourne based charity The Butterfly Foundation it seeks to raise funds & awareness surrounding the complex issues of Eating Disorders & Body Image. In a broader sense, it’s also very much about Expression though art & how powerful a platform art can be… whether that be through personal expression or in creating art that conveys a message or inspires others. Please visit the blog to read more about the aims Mirrors seeks to reflect. Many of you will know i’ve been heavily involved in putting together this exhibition, alongside founding Director, Rhiannon Bulley. / A large part of that has been selecting artists whose work somehow spoke to the issues we were dealing with… In the most part, artists who convey strong, positive images of beauty, inside & out. The support of artists here on Red Bubble has been phenomenal, with works coming from right around the globe… i am so grateful & i know i speak for all involved in Mirrors. Gracing the walls of the Mori Gallery will be: Karin Taylor / Karin has so generously donated the framed original of her inspirational painting, Hidden Treasure. / Cynthia Lund Torroll / A print of Cia’s latest beautiful work, And The Day Came is in the air on it’s way to Sydney as we speak! / Bec Winnel / Bec has so kindly sent us one of her sublime feminine portraits, a framed original yet to be revealed! Below is her latest stunner on RB, Silk Cocoon / Caitlin Shearer / Caitlin has created a stunning new painting especially for Mirrors, you’ll have to wait to see that one, in the meantime, Immaculate , is just that! / “Steph Granshaw”: http://www.redbubble.com/people/stephg / Stephs gorgeous drawing Baby Blue landed in my hands all the way from Thailand just yesterday & is being beautifullly framed as we speak! / Mimi Yoon / Who is rushing a print of her gorgeous work, wear me wear you all the way from the U.S to Sydney, right as we speak! / AWarr / AWarr’s Beautiful Anonymous series caught my attention the moment i saw it, seemingly speaking right to the heart of one aspect of what Mirrors is all about, a new BA piece has been created especially for Mirrors, BA- Weightless is a hint at it’s direction. / Remus Grecu / Remus created 3 paintings for an award-winning Anti Anorexia campaign in Europe & has very kindly allowed us to display prints of the series as well as the video you can view here / A special mention to the lovely Pip Gerard whose journal alerted me to Remus’ work. So this is a MASSIVE thankyou to all of the amazing artists here who have so generously supported this project, it means such a great deal to me. There are also a number of other artists from right around Australia donating work, as well as submissions from the public & a number of pieces from in-hospital Art Therapy programs. For those of you in the Sydney region Mirrors opens this Wednesday, 14th October 6-8PM at: / Mori Gallery / 168 Day St / Darling Harbour / If you can’t make it to the opening night, don’t worry there is plenty of time, with the exhibtion running from the 15th-26th October. The issues Mirrors looks at affect all of our lives one way or another… whether it be as directly as in personal experience or that of friends or family… or from a distance in a more general sense. / We’d love you to invite friends & family & it’s easily done here I also just need to add one more little thankyou to Karin for kindly posting about Mirrors last week… Between co-ordinating the exhibition & finishing my own painting for it, my intention to post this much earlier was a little way-laid! / There were also a small number of you whom i know really would have loved to contribute but for one reason or another were unable to. I appreciate the in principle support many of you have expressed to me privately just as much :) Hope to see some of you at Mori on Wednesday!!! Xxx Sarah Opening Night / Photo Gallery

hmmmm. a bittersweet moment… my last school exhibition has arrived and tomorrow we get moderated… dum dum dum… so iv spent the last few days running around like a chicken without its head trying to get everything done. Now my stuff is alls et up and i await… I took some pictures (especially for Andrew!) of what it looks like so you don’t have to leave it all to imagination! ;) just keep in mind it isn’t a gallery but a classroom turned expo!!! :D I have three artworks, My Personal Journey, Reneweal and the final My Space. I have done three verying types of photography in each (the first was long exposure with lights, the second underwater photography and now i did portraiture but conceptualy!) all very confusing… and then amongst all of it, each artwork has a cocoon that links them all! The My Space i challenged myself and made a bodycast as well as just over 30 portraits. They all linked to people invading my space and affecting me, both positively and negatively. In the display of photos we see how all the people link and form a lattice of bonds. The body cast then represents me wrapped in a cocoon of lifelines, lines that link to all the people who have affected me… there are some knots in some places, representative of thelittle speed bumps encountered along the way! for more view this pic Here are some photo’s… / / / / / / /
