Ruby is a character I developed to create a personal narrative about the journey of life, exploring the range of emotions about each subject matter both internally and externally as seen through Ruby’s eyes. The work is multilayered from the mundane to the sublime. Since there are twelve pieces in this body of work, I decided it would be interesting as a calendar. Each image is paired with the month I think it best fits, due to color palette or choice of subject matter.

This style of yoga is characterized by a focus on viṅyāsa, or a dynamic connecting posture, that creates a flow between the more static traditional yoga postures. Vinyasa translates as linking and the system also implies the linking of the movement to the breath. Essentially the breath dictates the movement and the length of time held in the postures.
