  • A Galleon anchors in the shelterd waters of Duart Bay off the West Coast of Scotland

  • This is a bit of a ‘variation on a theme’ and is actually the background image I used for Luna earlier, but with a few changes. I realise as I go about this juxtaposing of images that I can use many a good image over again by applying a few different effects and techniques to it.

  • There is always hope for something beautiful to emerge isn’t there? ;) I feel great positive energy coming from this one… ;)

  • In modern English, the term ghost ship has come to stand for at least one of three separate definitions, all of which involving unexplained circumstances. Historically, the term has been used to refer to reported sightings of apparitions over water that have appeared in the form of maritime sailing ships, often after having previously been known to have sunk, or to derelict vessels found floating with no crew. In fiction, ghost ships have often been vessels crewed by some manner of spectral beings. Full Moons are traditionally associated with temporal insomnia, insanity and various magical phenomena such as lycanthropy. Psychologists, however, have found that there is no strong evidence for effects on human behavior around the time of a full moon. They find that studies are generally not consistent, with some showing a positive effect and others showing a negative effect (hence the terms lunacy and lunatic) Many neopagans hold a monthly ritual called an Esbat at each full moon, while some people practicing traditional Chinese religions prepare their ritual offerings to their ancestors and deities on every full and new moon

  • OWL & THE PUSSYCAT SERIES Pen and Ink / The original has some gold fleck ORIGINAL AVAILABLE approx 4inches- £ 25 + P&P Another illustration inspired by “The Owl and the Pussycat” by Edward Lear /

  • A funny one for all the Little Boat and critter fans…this is Bitty, she’s my mum’s cat. ;) One can always find her ‘upside down’ posing for a photo (or asking for a tummy tickle) ;)

  • A fun little HDR plus conventional image. Description for DAC: Shot three identical background sky and tree images with one stop over, one stop on, and one stop under in exposure. I then duplicated the final HDR image in the PS Layers palette. I also added the Flood effect with my Flaming Pear plugin. Next, I plonked my red moon in-between the two layers, and took the copy layer down to 69%. Then, I dragged the copy layer sideways using ‘scale,’ and made the copy layer jut out a little from the original layer, creating a sort of ‘ghost image.’ Then, I just added Little Boat, flooded that image, flattened the image, and saved it ;-) And here it is..

  • Digatal artwork created in 2007

  • The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea / In a beautiful pea green boat, /

  • for Now here’s my darkside “My Darkside” seeks to explore issues of identity and meaning and the questioning of one’s life and purpose over time and beyond time. There is deliberate loneliness and isolation as the viewer is invited to journey in the small boat in the moonlight of her face. The only light that the moon has to offer is a reflection of the sun, other than that it is nothing but a cold dark stone. Acrylic and Mixed Media on Canvas / February 2009 / 92cm x 92cm

  • An old piece from my portfolio. Made almost four years ago, and retouched to bring it up to date. :) “A clouded dream on an earthly night / Hangs upon the crescent moon / A voiceless song in an ageless light / Sings at the coming dawn / Birds in flight are calling there / Where the heart moves the stones / It’s there that my heart is longing / All for the love of you…” – Loreena McKennitt / —-—-—-—-—-—-——- Stock credits: / Cloud brushes: :BladeMarth / Ship: JLStock / Model: syccas-stock / Globe: http://www.sxc.hu/photo/970346 / Hot air balloon: http://www.sxc.hu/photo/472505

  • This is definately one of the most beautiful places of the world, at the most beautiful time of the day :) Noosa River, Noosaville, Queensland. 1000’s of Rainbow Lorikeets fly above, in their afternoon social time, hanging out in the tall Gum Trees. If you stand within 50 metres of the tree, you can’t hear yourself think for the noise, it’s so wonderful an experience! This colour happens most nights, but this cloud formation does not happen often at all, in my opinion, the perfect sky :) I hope you enjoy this shot, as much as I enjoyed shooting this one. Available Large, and best viewed large. Actual print size is 1600mm x 1000mm. Canon 50D, 10mm, no filters needed, as this was the true colour of the evening.

  • Finally I got some luck with the Full Moonset and no clouds.. Not a cloud in sight this morning, and the moon was beautiful setting over Mount Cooroy. I have been doing tests lately with composition of moonrises and moonsets. If you take the shot with a massive zoom, from a few 1000 metres away, the moon is beautiful and large! I have learnt to throw away the 10mm lens for these kind of shots! Moonset of Thursday, 6th August, 2009 – 6:04am. Over the Noosa River, Noosa Sound, looking over Noosaville. Canon 5D Mk II, 800mm (400mm + 2x Tamron). Available very large, and best viewed Large!
