Taken along the Inside Passage in Alaska (Alaska Marine Highway). One of the nicest forms of public transport I have ever taken. My twin sister and I had the plessure of Duct taping a tent to the stern of a ferry, and sitting back for four days and four nights, along what I consider to be the nicest place on earth. This photo helps restore the momory of the ‘fulfilment’ aswell as ‘sollitute’. This mode of transport should be taken if you ever have the chance.
Lots of activity on the river Thames with Tower Bridge in the distance
The Queen Mary Cruise Liner, now a floating museum piece at Long Beach, Los Angeles.

I took a few aerial photos of the Queen Victoria as she passed the Coffs Coast, Australia. She was about 18 miles off the coast.
The QEII leaving Hobart for the last time (being decommissioned to become a floating hotel in Dubai). The Tasman Peninsula and Cape Raoul can be seen in the background. The bird is an albatross, though I’m not entirely sure which species.
Sun setting behind the clouds off the George Town coast as the last cruise ship leaves, taking all the duty free cigars, cigarettes, rum, jewellery and “resort-wear” with it. The spirit off the pirate lives on in Grand Cayman.
With typical kiwi generosity encountered throughout our trip the redboat captain offered us all a free cruise to make up for the lack of visibility on the first outing…....nobody complained.

with a long range lens, it appears as though the cruise ship, Norwegian Pearl, is about to collide with the sail boat. Taken at 250 mm, F5.6, 1/500 sec.

My uncle and brother in laws boats rafted together at anchor one night. Both have wooden hulls and both owners are shipwrights.
Two of the most beautiful wooden boats I’ve ever laid my eyes on.
This lovely rock formation was just off the beach on the island off Samana. The Dominican Republic is a very poor island in the Carrib. Developers are working now to develop the penninsula called Samana…..... Huge all inclusive hotel/resorts are popping up and beaches are being built with white sand to attract tourists and cruise ships. While there is no port there, boats tender you ashore. There is no substancial town yet to browse around or shopping to speak of, yet is is the islands of the Carrib as they would have been in the 1950’s or even earlier, I guess. The crime rate is high due to the extensive amount of poverty. This is not an island you want to explore by yourself. We opted for a tour guided trip to an out island patroled to keep it private.
