Corio Bay, Eastern Beach – Geelong. / I had me some time to stop for a few quick shots on the way to work this morning. Lucky to have such a clean surface on the water, the wind really chopped it up by this arvo. / I was particularly drawn by the criss-crossing of the wires and how they reflected on the water. For the record, it’s a HDR comp.

This image was created at the Apollo Bay Docks early in 2008, went here for a holiday just as I was getting into Photography. I went down to the docks just as a storm was rolling in and it made for some interesting weather conditions! This pic was created from one raw file. I changed the exposures in Lightroom and then merged 3 images using Photomatix, increased the blue and green saturation levels in Lightroom and added a bit of contrast. This is the result! The wonderful little normandy port of Honfleur in France at the mouth of the river Seine.(it’s best viewed LARGE for detail). To access by boat you tie up and wait for them to close the road, lift up the bridge pass through a loch and this is what awaits !(I had the good fortune to be a lastminute stand in crew on a wonderful yacht recently… huge happy sailor grins … :)))) It’s an absolutely stunning place with its rich artistic and historical heritage wonderfully preserved! It is also the place from which a Samuel de Champlain left in 1608 for the ’ New World’ and he went on to found the city of Quebec and 400th anniversary celebrations are currently underway… I might have wished to capture all sail boats in this wonderful settting… but took comfort from the fact that everyone on that huge motor launch had to take their shoes off at the door to protect the carpets ..teehee! We enjoyed the mellow dusk settle on this perfect anchorage with pints of beer in hand, outside the renowned Forge inn, (officially Britains remotest mainland pub). The tiny scottish hamlet of Inverie is inaccessible by road, only by sea or a demanding walk of many miles. We had crossed to the unspoilt area of the knoydart peninsula by ferry from Mallaig for some amazing walking (see the series of 3 pics on heartbeat ridge . The sights on arrival were just captivating with wildflowers galore, deer roaming gardens, peacocks roosting (see bird in a tree and I also got the precious shot of morning gems. After long waiting for the right sunset to photograph the “Mariah”, a customers boat, yesterday afternoon was perfect! A huge fire on North Shore gave it more character with the thick smoke. As I was shooting this scene, some kids playing on the beach behind me screamed out “Mummy mummy, the sky is on fire”, and went running back for her protection. Was so cute :) Noosa River, Noosaville, Queensland, Australia. Canon 50D, 10mm. Available Large and best viewed Large!
