Abundance – The Fountain http://www.joseramos.net A different approach, shot in the same day and place where I made the “The Infinity Fountain Photo”, capturing the same essence and feeling… Once more, standing alone in front of another memory, I harvest my thoughts from the infinity fountain ahead. The cycle repeats, as I find myself pulled away from the tedious life of today, feeling I could grab the source and remain there silently… After one hour of search and 20 minutes waiting under a rock for the intense rain to stop, the skies finally opened to let the sun set in and show it’s strength. The beach was absolutely desert, and the next 30 minutes were made of pure photographic pleasure… I came home wet and cold, but my inside was warm and soothed… José Ramos / http://www.joseramos.net / ____ / Shot in Algarve – Portugal

Remains of a sailing vessel washed ashore off Carpenters Rocks, South East South Australia. The boat is submerged in sand and is only visible like this on low tides with slight winds. Slowly being broken down by the ocean waves. Had to wade out to get this shot as it was…

Oil, 60×60cm. / ‘The Bass Rock is the closest sea bird sanctuary to the Scottish mainland and was the first to be studied by ornithologists during the 19th century, when they gave the Gannet the scientific name Sula Bassana, incorporating the name of this rocky stack. This colony is the largest on the east coast of Britain and holds approximately 10% of the world population of North Atlantic Gannets’.

Sailing boat that ran aground at Carpenters Rocks, Limestone Coast, South East South Australia. Went on a group photoshoot last night, seven of us out in the weather….. This boat is only visible like this on extremely low tides just East of the lighthouse at Carpenters. Canon 400D, 18 -55 lens, polarising filter, HDR 3 shot merge in Photomatix.

This image was taken on 1st April 2009 at Mills Beach in Mornington. / Canon 450D 18-200 lens / exp: 1/200s f5.6 / ISO 125 / I went to the beach with my family for some fish & chips and almost didn’t take my camera. My hubby talked me into it last minute. I would have been in tears!!! /

Two yachts race up the mouth of the Hunter River into Newcastle Harbour, New South Wales. The image was captured with a 6 MP Sony Cyber-Shot and then processed in Paint Shop Pro. I duplicated the original layer and applied a number of filters to it to make it resemble an impressionist painting. I then tweaked the tones to highlight certain parts of the scene.

I know not many people find this beach in Noosa Heads National Park, Queensland, Australia. Every time I visit here, there is not one footprint on the beach. This is the same beach as The Immortal Soldier image, shot on the same day. The unused path that leads to this beach is hard to find, and the incline can be up to 80%, and very slippery. Sometimes sliding is the best way down :) I can sit here for hours, it’s so tranquil and unspoilt. Canon 50D, 10mm, 16:9 crop. Available Large and best viewed Large!

The Rappahannock River is a river in eastern Virginia, in the United States, approximately 184 miles (294 kilometres) in length. It traverses the entire northern part of the state, from the Blue Ridge Mountains in the west, across the Piedmont, to Chesapeake Bay, south of the Potomac River. / An important river in American history, the Rappahannock was the site of early settlements in the Virginia Colony, and, later, it was at the center of a major theatre of battle in the American Civil War. Due to its significance as an obstacle to north-south movements, it, in effect, functioned as the war’s eastern-theatre boundary, between the “North” (the Union) and the “South” (the Confederate States of America). / The river drains an area of 2,848 square miles (7405 km²), approximately 6% of Virginia. Much of the watershed is rural and forested, but it has experienced increased development in recent decades because of the southward expansion of the Washington, D.C. suburbs. A body board rider races across the face of a wave as it breaks inside the entrance to Newcastle Harbour. If you live near the coast and are physically fit enough, you should try riding a body board if you have never done it. You would be amazed at how much fun it is to fly along, pushed by a wave with your face so close to the water the whole time ! To turn, you push down on one side of the board [ the ” inner rail ”, closest to the face of the wave ] while pulling the ” outer rail ” [ closest to the trough or flat water ] up firmly. When you reach the top of the wave [ called the ” Lip ” ] or anywhere else you turned towards, you push on the opposite sides to the ones that took you there. You can go anywhere on the wave – it’s all up to you and your skill, creativity and determination. They give you an exciting ride in waves of any size and but they can also be ridden in the largest waves on the planet !
