  • Reflective, calm and peaceful. A walk through Adelaide on a balmy summer’s evening along the Torrens, looking at public art and feeling completely at home. To have a camera there to capture a small portion of that feeling and take it home is what it is all about. / Talking Our Way Home sculpture by Shaun Kirby

  • Whiskeytown Lake, West of Redding, CA taken this morning 03/23/08. Heading West on HWY 299 from Redding CA, this is just a short and beautiful drive; well known due to the dedication in 1963 by President John F. Kennedy; this is gorgeous man made lake with excellent fishing. Species include but are not limited to Bass, Crappie, and Trout….Excellent swimming areas set aside for just that by the Parks department, and excellent camping available in well maintained camp sites. • Taken on a boat crossing the St-Lauwrence river.I would easily offer a card like that to help somebody make the best choice to feel free. /

  • Ever dreamed of sneaking away to a quiet, tranquil spot…lush vegetation, hearing the sounds of the forest and spending the day relaxing, reading a good book and having the most yummy picnic? / Well here is a little oasis I created. It looks a lot like an area of New Zealand called the Marlborough Sounds. What childhood memories are made of. The old bach (or crib)...simple holiday home with comfortable but basic living conditions. Getting away from the rat race.

  • / / Island Dreams Media – pencil and photoshop / Substrate – paper Dedication – to Jack during my recent holiday I had time to relax and meditate, to connect with nature….this is an expression of my impression of Tangalooma. There are dolphins there, with whom i connected daily and a lot of sealife, including birds, seastars, rays, fish…. the original drawing is gifted to Jack, a fellow artist i met on Tangalooma and now friend, who really appreciated this drawing so much, that I felt greatly encouraged….

  • Last summer I spent living on a boat in the North Pacific on the north west side of The Queen Charlotte Islands in Canada. (left is Graham Islans & right is Hippa) I can’t describe it and I’m one to go on about things. Living with the same 8 people in isolation for 120 days… you need to get away. I spent a lot of time in the kayak. I had never done it before and I fell in love. I kayaked in the ocean. Curious seals befriended me from their cautious distance of about 4 feet. Watching sunsets floating in the middle of nowhere is a priceless experience & I’d often pass up warn dinner to be out there. I quite liked the name of the little plastic vessel. ‘Perception’. That’s what it’s all about for me. this photo is not selective colour edited. it is a full colour photograph. shot with my Canon Rebel XT (that’s x-tra trout, baby!) Look! my very own motivational poster! Coming soon to a gloomy office near you! /

  • “Floating on Clouds” was shot in Goulds Newfoundland Canada. This is The Dory in natural light. I was talking to a friend about shooting “The Dory” and “Floating on Clouds” and how I used a polarizer to bring out the clouds on the water (as seen here) and removed it and used a flash to shoot “The Dory”. I was wondering in hindsight what I would have come up with if I had used the polarizer and flash at the same time. I know I would have given up about up to two stops with the filter which would have meant a slower shutter speed and the boat was moving, ever so slightly, so it may not have worked out? But maybe next time, live and learn! Camera Model Canon EOS 50D / Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1 / Av( Aperture Value ) 22.0 / ISO Speed 100 / Lens EF-S18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS / Focal Length 18.0mm / B + W Polarizer For more information please visit Brian’s Homepage or on Flickr

Since I had some spare time today while everyone else in my family is doing a big clean up (done my spring cleaning already) I enjoyed creating this pencil drawing on paper, which I’ve enhanced digitally. A dreamy little decorative work that would enhance a child’s room and take them to other places in their dreams.
