  • The vibrant and beautiful colorful buildings along Nyhavn, Copenhagen’s quay

  • The Icelandic Harvester. / / When I came across this old vessel moored to the pier my imagination started running wild with scenarios of what life aboard this wooden vessel would have been like. I could almost feel the sineous texture of the ropes as they hung there coated in the ice cold saltwater of the frigid North Atlantic Ocean. I could nearly hear the calls of the sailors as they shouted commands back and forth across her weather beaten decks as the waves crashed down upon her on any one of her numerous voyages. What sights must have been seen as sailors of old lined the rails to peer down at the mysteries of the sea. How many men were lost at sea and how many made it home with wild stories of his adventure aboard the Icelandic Harvester. / / Shot with a Canon 400D and processed in Lightroom 2. / / NautilusBlue / / nominated this image to be showcased in the group Pay It Forward and this is what she had to say… / / Ice Breaker / by Kevin Kroeker / I think it is an outstanding image with great composition ( great leading lines) with lots of drama and the colours are amazing . It shows us the harshness of the climate. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography /

  • Acrylic on stretched canvas “Tall Ships….....” has been featured in “Hand painted or Drawn Vehicles” and “Realist Paintings about Water” The Tall Ships are groups of wooden hulled , masted ships of yesteryear which are still kept in shape for sailing. They are the ships of the 1700’s and 1800’s and make trips to harbors all over the world. What a majestic sight they are in these modern times. This is an homage to the great masted ships of the past.

  • Foggy morning in an Oregon fishing port.

  • Eastpoint, Florida, USA, is the real deal. Fishing is the town’s lifeblood, though it’s getting hard to make a living that way. They take these boats out onto Apalachee Bay almost every day, using long tongs to pluck the oysters off the bottom. Local restaurants and markets sell the oysters fresh. This was taken early on a Sunday morning. The boats are still in twilight as the first rays of the sun start breaking into the sky. Other than the shimmering of the water, a lone seagull provides the only action. “Eastpoint At Dawn” / —Featured in the group “Florida the Sunshine State” / -Featured in the group “Harbour Life” / —WInner of monthly avatar challenge in the “Harbour Life” group.
