If these birds have just eaten, things could get pretty messy. (Did I just make a poop joke? Have I sunk so low? A poop joke? Seriously?)
Hearing Silence / As the interphased day and night / Leaves the sky aglow with residual light, / My hungry eyes take in the feast / That tells me most, by saying least. A silent scene can stir the heart / With more power than mere words impart, / And leave you breathless, standing still- / Held captive by your own free will. Sunset with the tide going out. Perhaps a finished fishing trip. No color enhancement used in this image. Natural Art bringing Environmental Awareness via Art(At Right Time)
This is one of my favourite creations to date. To me this epitomizes the colours and charm of the Maltese islands. Maybe I’m being fanciful…. or am I? Thanks all for looking! x Best viewed larger….

Ponte della Croce on La Giudecca, one of the major Islands of Venice, Italy. This bridge used to be called Ponte della Zirada (of the turn), because in the regattas the boats rounded a post placed opposite to it. Single RAW image Tonemapped in Photomatix Pro 3.2. The Okavango Delta, Botswana, Africa. This body of water is the largest inland delta in the world, and one of the wildest parts of Southern Africa. Many of the animals inhabiting this region have never had human contact and thus, are as carnal as they come. That’s a comforting thought, when you are spending two nights bush camping among this habitat lol! No toilets, showers or indoor areas, aside from our tents. At night time all was silent, apart from the calls of elephants, hyenas, jackals, and what I thought was a train moving in the distance.. turned out to be a pride of lions roaring after they had killed their dinner. By mid afternoon the temperature reached 48 degrees celcius (118F) on our first day. That kind of heat is impossible to escape, with little to no humidity, the only water we had to drink had been turned hot with the heat. Needless to say, tempers flared and people cried. But hey, it was fun! I took this photo as we were being poled across the delta to the island in its centre. We traveled in mokoros, African style gondolas, carved entirely out of one tree trunk. Once on the island we trekked on foot, saw wild elephants, zebras, giraffes and wart hogs. Thankfully no lions, or other members of the big 5 turned up while were in such a vulnerable position. On our first night, elephants almost stampeded our camp site. The matriarch appeared at one end of the camp, stepped on one of our groups tents and was threatened to charge. All I clearly remember was someone scream. Next thing I knew, we were all pushing each other out of the way to run. But run where? We were on the banks of a delta where crocodiles and hippos lived. In the trees were possibly leopards and beyond our camp we knew there were lions. For a brief moment I thought, death by elephant?? We were however, saved by one of our guides, who hurled a flaming log at the elephant, hitting it square on the head. The matriarch stopped in her tracks, stood still for about a minute (felt like an eternity) and retreated. All of us breathed a sigh of relief, till a girl in our group said “elephants never forget”. Gulp. Added texture from www.deviantart.com free use stock – t_a_g_g_e_r. Layered original shot twice, desaturared one layer. Added texture twice, altered hue slightly on both, increased brightness, decreased contrast. Canon SX100IS MCN: CA586-6FEED-2J2VL
