  • Dear William; Well honey its been 9 days I have been down here in the submersible, I’m studying the dolphins this month. I wish you were here to see them all interacting, its just amazing. They dont seem to be bothered with my presence anymore. / Ive been studying these beautiful creatures daily and the team wants to test their certain abilities and game behavior. We placed large cubed objects on the floor of the ocean to which they could be tested for long extended periods of time. It didnt take long until they did accept the objects, or even the lights going on when they entered them. Our little friends appeared to love this one in front of me the most and are joyously entertaining themselves daily with little games like, who can could turn through the cube the quickest. The elders are less likely to join in but remain near by. Perhaps their knowledge of such non sea elements are considered a breach of territory or considered a possible threat. / Well I better get back to work….Talk soon! / . / . / . / Journal Entry: June 12th, 2012 / Day 9…. / Quadrant 8 / Subjects: Ling’s Pod / Time: 2:34pm / Grouping: Ling’s pod has remained since dropping the cubes. No other pods have appeared. / Territorial Issues: Ling appears watchful of outside interference, even small fish / Flashing Light Reactions: Adults still unsettled, young adults intriqued / Gaming: The young adults appear most engaged while others try but end quickly, still unsure why / Emotional Stress: None at this time / Time of Cubing Interactions: Mostly between 10am & 4:40pm, seems feeding schedules counter the play activity. ©2007 Lisa C. • The wonderful little normandy port of Honfleur in France at the mouth of the river Seine.(it’s best viewed LARGE for detail). To access by boat you tie up and wait for them to close the road, lift up the bridge pass through a loch and this is what awaits !(I had the good fortune to be a lastminute stand in crew on a wonderful yacht recently… huge happy sailor grins … :)))) It’s an absolutely stunning place with its rich artistic and historical heritage wonderfully preserved! It is also the place from which a Samuel de Champlain left in 1608 for the ’ New World’ and he went on to found the city of Quebec and 400th anniversary celebrations are currently underway… I might have wished to capture all sail boats in this wonderful settting… but took comfort from the fact that everyone on that huge motor launch had to take their shoes off at the door to protect the carpets ..teehee! • I stand, I stare / I wonder, where? I pray, I breathe / to stay, or leave? I live, I lie / I wonder, why? I love, I pain / I feel the same. I give, I get / and yet, and yet? Shot on Werneth Low, Hyde. Overlooking Manchester City Centre

  • Painted from a very old photo (1857) of a collier brig. Taken from my wonderful book of North East sailing ships on the coast. / And the ship, background and quay, are painted from the fenland port of Wisbech, on the Lincolnshire coast. The rest of the painting is from my imagination. Watercolour on two rivers, hand-made 140lb paper. / 14” x 21”

  • managed to just squeeze this in before it started to bucket down- the winds went gale force. Normally I shoot from the other side of the broadwater but the storm split and ended up behind me. The Broadwater overlooking Sundale Bridge/Southport, Gold Coast (03/12/08) / Got some more from the other side but the buildings were in the way a bit(was heading to the beach before the downpour) View more of my storm images / / Storms

  • When I am an old horsewoman / I shall wear turquoise and diamonds, / And a straw hat that doesn’t suit me / And I shall spend my social security on / white wine and carrots, / And sit in my alleyway of my barn / And listen to my horses breathe. I will sneak out in the middle of a summer night / And ride the old bay gelding, / Across the moonstruck meadow / If my old bones will allow / And when people come to call, I will smile and nod / As I walk past the gardens to the barn / and show instead the flowers growing / inside stalls fresh-lined with straw. I will shovel and sweat and wear hay in my hair / as if it were a jewel / And I will be an embarrassment to all / Who will not yet have found the peace in being free / to have a horse as a best friend / A friend who waits at midnight hour / With muzzle and nicker and patient eyes / For the kind of woman I will be / When I am old.

  • Plants screaming.. water me.. much to do. But last night..hummm in a land land far away.. I went ship building / . / I found a bay that is full of life / hinting at growth / I found a dock that houses a boat my size / (omg.. fantazimal dimensions) / it’s called a slip / and that’s just what I did / slipped right in, / and so the contract said / expansion expected / nothing stays the same / get ready to move round the bay / seaworthy you will become / besides movement is / good for the hull / holding my heart / and my lungs / where I breath in deep / and smell salt scents / I lick those whenever possible. / However… / I am still trying to pack light / as I would like racing as an option / just in case / passion expands too / then I shall head for the sea / and allow my sails to set a course once again into the unknown.
