Chess Birthay Card With Board And Chess Peaces
This was the poster for the concert that The Doors put on in the Coliseum, CNE, Toronto, 1968. I drew it in ballpoint pen over 40 years ago. I watched the performance from the front stage left. I met with Jim on a few occasions while he was in town and also spent some time conversing with the band members, particularly Ray Manzarek. I have the original art to this day, and this has provided a great opportunity to offer a giclee print of what has become a collector’s item. The original poster was drawn at 18×18.5 inches in size. It was printed for the concert at twice the size at 3ft. square. I like it at its original size, but some like it at the concert scaling.
I made this Tiger Portrait with an X-Acto knife and scratch. Actually it was my first time using scratch board and I can’t wait to upload some more Art using this technique
