Most of my shots are colorful, scenic, or something like that… But, I am interested in patterns, too, and sometimes I see something that just “clicks” within me. The old board fence runs along a road near Harrisburg, and when I stopped and got out to take some photos, I couldn’t help but see this old knot, with the peeling white paint covering it. I just had to take the shot even if it’s not my normal “thing”.... What do you think?

These acrylic paintings were made for a local artist show on the recent topic of politics. Anything was open as long as it wasn’t distasteful. / I used to do editorial cartoons for a local paper so poking fun at politicians came easy to me. / These are available for sale, they’re currently framed but I’m willing to sell if you’re interested. McCain and Obama are separate board canvasses and would be sold separately. / John McCain is a play on the Maverick label he gave himself. He’s in the desert plains and he’s covered in band-aids. I don’t know how many people understood that he’s dressed as Maverick, from the James Garner TV show, because a lot of the crowd is young. / Obama is seen with a lipstick-ed pig. I was trying to find imagery that related to Obama’s flaws but he didn’t have many, at the time (the Rev. and the terrorist professor came up as I was painting it-too late). So I painted him with a lipstick hog and big ears with an homage to Shepard Fairey’s famous design of Obama.
A challenging feature
