A spiral weather vane or wind vane made of colorful strips of cloth and sprockets, is captured in a way that creates an abstract, yet only some parts are sharp to give the viewer an idea of the object and how it works. / CONSIDER THIS IMAGE AS A COMPANION! /
Canon 350D lens 17-40 mm / River stream in the forest.
The ring is on my hand, And the wreath is on my brow; / Satin and jewels grand Are all at my command, / And I am happy now. And my lord he loves me well; But, when first he breathed his vow, / I felt my bosom swell- For the words rang as a knell, / And the voice seemed his who fell In the battle down the dell, / And who is happy now. But he spoke to re-assure me, And he kissed my pallid brow, / While a reverie came o’er me, And to the church-yard bore me, / And I sighed to him before me, Thinking him dead D’Elormie, / “Oh, I am happy now!” And thus the words were spoken, And this the plighted vow, / And, though my faith be broken, And, though my heart be broken, / Here is a ring, as token / That I am happy now! Would God I could awaken! For I dream I know not how! / And my soul is sorely shaken Lest an evil step be taken,- / Lest the dead who is forsaken / May not be happy now. ... Photographed in Santa Barbara, California during a smokey morning from a nearby wild fire which created the colors in the water. Canon 1Ds Mark II / f/16 / 1/8 second / ISO 50 / 600 mm focal length
A combination of a smokey atmosphere, slow shutter speed and panning of the camera created this photo. 10,000+ views Canon 1Ds Mark II / f/22 / 1/4 second / 600 mm focal length
A wave shot on a morning with smoke in the air from California fires from 2007. This wave had the sun behind the camera rather to the side creating a more pastel color tone to the wave. Canon 1Ds Mark II / 1/8 second exposure / f/4
This is one of my personal faves. It was taken about 20 minutes after the Blue Wet Zebra. / The clouds were dark, the sky was colourful. / As i was fiddling with the cam, the sun came up like this! And the window was still dripping in a cool way. / I like this, coz it got my favourite colours in it!! As is! / 928 views / A bit abstract isnt it. Best viewed LARGE! The detail of the water drops is quite cool Featured in the Experimental Photography and Editing group!!! / !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please see RoyAllenHunt’s written piece: Are You Ok With This. His incredible song is a compliment to this piece. See here for how I created this shot. I really thought I would wait at least two weeks before I tried this again, but then I went hunting in the pantry and found more dye and well, curiosity and motivation got the better of me tonight! Red and green dye this time around. Green was dropped in first, and allowed to swirl around a fair bit, then the red came in. It looked so much like blood coursing through someone, or something.. Grand Lake, Algonquin Park Ontario, CANADA / September 26th 2009 / Nikon D40, Nikkor VR 55-200mm lens / The Orton Effect If I could paint I think I would like to work on impressionistic landscapes like this. A mixture of fall color, rain and fog. There is something mystical and magical about nature under these circumstances, and the soft gentle rain which brings out all the colors and softens all the edges. A beach somewhere in Pembrokeshire, South Wales. A sunset like I have not seen in years. This long exposure captures the movement of the sea and sky blending together seamlessly through the colours of the sunset. If the light had lasted I could have stayed there for the rest of my life.
I’m usually not a fan of too many special effects applied to photos… But today I felt like making something “dreamy”. Probably won’t kill me to have one of these in my gallery, heh.
