  • Canon EOS 450D /

  • Surfing just before dawn. The water color comes from the dawn light reflecting off high clouds in the sky. Canon 1Ds Mark II / 600 mm focal length / 1/15 second / f/4 / ISO 50 Panning and trying to keep the surfer in one spot in the frame produces the fluidity and quality to the water.

  • A surfer paddles out at dawn to hopefully catch his first wave of the morning. Canon 1Ds Mark II / 600 mm / f/4 / 1/30 second

  • A group of ducks fly by in the dawn and captured with a panned slow shutter speed exposure near the breakwater of Santa Barbara, California. Canon 1Ds Mark II / 600 mm focal length / 1/10 second / f/8

  • an earhart chappel photo. ORIGINAL SIN. / “THE APPLE” / / TEMPT / APPLE / RED / AND DELICIOUS. /

  • I happened upon this lovely bench painted as the American flag while on Coronado Island near City Hall. The sun was setting. No one was around. Isabella’s voice giggling in the distance for me to hurry and catch up. It made me stop. And stand directly in front of it. Almost demanding respect. My heart beat faster. My throat lumped full. I felt sad and proud all at once. Instinct almost forced my hand to my heart. Instead it was my camera to my eye. • Shot with Canon 5Dmk2 and Canon 24-70 2.8L lens (34mm) at f22, 1.6sec Auto WB ISO50 in Apeture mode. / Red Rock, Yuragir National Park, Mid North Coast, NSW Australia. / 812 viewings I would like to thank my good friend Simone Byrne for her advice and encouragement with my landscapes. Check her out on RB if you want to see some truely outstanding photography. I think this is one of my best images. Believe it or not it is very difficult to capture images here because of its bearing and landscape. The colours of the rocks, the short duration of light and the bright sky tend to cause loss in a significant range in either highlights or darks whichever way you try to capture it. I had to use an 8 stop neutral density filter and 4 stop grad ND to get a balance between the two.

  • A ‘burn’ is the Scottish Highland name for a stream, creek or beck. On my walk through the forest, I spotted a broken branch of Rowan, with its lovely Autumnal reds, and placed it on the ledge next to the miniature waterfall. A still – life of Nature. / The water was coloured with the peat that it picks up as it flows through the hillside. / All that was missing were the fairies ! I deliberately blurred the water, using f22 on my Canon EOS 40D, mounted securely on my tripod, fitted with a polarising filter to reduce the light still further ( it was quite low light under the canopy of trees). The shutter speed was 15 seconds ! I used my Tamron 28-300mm lens set at 135mm, iso 100, cloudy wb, RAW file Processed in PS CS3. Most of my processing is done in Adobe Camera Raw. I applied selective curves/levels adjustments, selective colour, and sharpened with Intellisharpen. • This is another small garden of mine with a tree stump for the core of it with a birdbath dish resting on top. What you see here is what I see without the effects outside my window where I sit daily on the computer.

  • Please see RoyAllenHunt’s written piece: Are You Ok With This. His incredible song is a compliment to this piece. See here for how I created this shot. I really thought I would wait at least two weeks before I tried this again, but then I went hunting in the pantry and found more dye and well, curiosity and motivation got the better of me tonight! Red and green dye this time around. Green was dropped in first, and allowed to swirl around a fair bit, then the red came in. It looked so much like blood coursing through someone, or something.. Backlit by my computer monitor, showing just a white page. • Grand Lake, Algonquin Park Ontario, CANADA / September 26th 2009 / Nikon D40, Nikkor VR 55-200mm lens / The Orton Effect If I could paint I think I would like to work on impressionistic landscapes like this. A mixture of fall color, rain and fog. There is something mystical and magical about nature under these circumstances, and the soft gentle rain which brings out all the colors and softens all the edges. • I’m usually not a fan of too many special effects applied to photos… But today I felt like making something “dreamy”. Probably won’t kill me to have one of these in my gallery, heh.

  • THIS WAS TAKEN ON THE GOLD COAST AT A FIRE TWIRLING DISPLAY. THIS IS ALL IN CAMERA, NO PHOTOSHOP. ONLY EDITING DONE WAS TO INCREASE SHARPNESS AND TO TAKE OUT A TINY BIT OF CONTRAST. / REMINDS ME OF HE – MAN… BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL…...LOL /

  • THE FORCE AND ENERGY OF THE FIRE SERPENT EXPLODES IN A FURY OF FLAMES IN A TORNADO OF POWER WHEN SUMMONED. THIS WAS TAKEN AT A FIRE TWIRLING DISPLAY ON THE GOLD COAST. ALL DONE IN CAMERA, NO PHOTOSHOP. ONLY INCREASED SHARPNESS AND ADDED A TOUCH OF BRIGHTNESS. /
