Poppy Pods… Enjoy!
This is all that remains of a very old, rather long pier at Clifton Springs that sailing ships used to berth at 100+ years ago when bring passengers to the ‘healing waters’ of the natural springs in the area during that era.
On a clear day, the jetty at Queensland’s Wellington Point is simple but striking.
Built around 1815 this church in the hills of Chimayo, New Mexico, is considered a masterpiece of colonial folk art and architecture and has been deemed a National Historic Landmark. Famed for its miraculous cross and the healing powers of the soil, the Prayer Room is filled with candles, cards & crude hand made shrines as well as crutches and braces testifying to miracles. Directly across the road they sell the best chili powder money can buy.
Two more in the series after this one… Enjoy!!

Back to the Leicester rural landscapes…..... / This was taken near the village of Ashby Magna. My timing could have been better – storm in the morning, sun at lunch, big fluffy clouds early afternoon, grey overcast later, then this. It is the opposite corner of the field in which I took Harvests Final Curtain a few days earlier.

Visiting and dreaming / Are the realities of the hope-world. / Crying and obtaining / Are the realities of the prayer-world. / Silencing and becoming / Are the realities of the meditation-world.Sri Chinmoy “Realities” is a collaborative work based on the wonderful photography of Eric Thom, but also includes my Clematis prints…see links below…although Eric’s photos are images of doors and windows of buildings, I saw them as more than that…I decided to create a collage of transfer prints to give the illusion of the interior of a place of worship, with light pouring in on those who come to meditate…..the large shape on the right is symbolic of all the floral tributes we make at the important events in our lives…Sri Chinmoys verse expresses all that the painting is meant to convey / / Inks and Bleach Pen on Saunders Hot Press Paper Eric Thom Advance You Really Don’t Want In Barrier To The Outside
Death is the house of emerging life.
I’ve shot a lot of southwest doorways. The colors, the textures, and the contrasts combine to make this my personal favorite. The warmth and richness of the wood offset the coolness of the adobe nicely and the flowerpots add a nice welcoming touch. This is a 3-shot HDR. Pentax K20D, 1/60 @ F6.3, ISO 100, 200mm
