This photo is a personal favourite.. The ice-cave sof Antarctica are amazingly beautiful and alluring, yet incredibly dangerous. They shimmer with frigid, crystalline magic, daring you to sail on in to admire the interior decoration, yet the ice crystals could so easily become incisors in the jaws of destruction..
This is a composite of two of my photographs taken on the beautiful and luxurious Black Sands of Hamoa Beach Maui Hawai’i “I the human wander lone in wonder amid this grand universe of unbounded space and time You the great keeper of universe / Exist in its infinite wonders / Lone in silence / In the grand home of your own being! Through the limitless lands and times / Through the incountable stars / You are gazing at me I look up towards thee! / All noise ceased in silence / All worlds absorbed in deep peace / Alone / You are! / Alone / I am within, fearless!” ~ Poetry and Songs by Rabindranath Tagore’ Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi Copyright © Sharon Mau 2009 / All Rights Reserved

So this little known place is probably the closest I will ever get to tropical paradise. Its called Wayag, and is a group of Islands off the Western Coast of West Papua in Indonesia. Its quite a story about how I got here (i hope to write it up some time soon), but I want to pay full credits to my friend Simon Mammino for his assistance in getting this shot. Take a bow mate (and now get back to work). Nikon D200 / 10.5mm
Such a mighty stream! No surprise that the waters of Trümmelbach are so powerful; the area this brook drains includes the famous glaciated mountain trio Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau... natural design is definitely a favorite subject for me . Hope you enjoy . Captures take in fort Myers, waters, Florida USA . Florida has so many great places to paddle. No state can match its variety of water – lakes, inlets, lagoons, rivers, streams, springs, ocean and a gulf – accessible 365 days a year! And, there seems no better way to explore this vast network of water than by canoe. It’s easy to cast away your cares and find peace and relaxation among Florida’s matchless beauty – there’s nothing like the quiet of Mother Nature to soothe and give you a fresh outlook on things. An added bonus is the many opportunities to see wildlife along the way – white and blue herons, turtles, alligators, and sandhill cranes to name a few. So, pack a picnic and test your spirit of adventure… discover the “real” Florida. Almost 50 of Florida’s State Parks permit canoing, with over half of those offering equipment rentals, so no matter where you are in the state, chances are you are close to water. Here are some of the more popular locations for setting out on your adventure… source of info

Background Information: / Peyto Lake is a glacier-fed lake located in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. The lake itself is easily accessed from the Icefields Parkway. It was named for Ebenezer William Peyto, an early trail guide and trapper in the Banff area. The lake is formed in a valley of the Waputik Range, between Caldron Peak, Peyto Peak and Mount Jimmy Simpson, at an elevation of 1,860 m (6,100 ft). During the summer, significant amounts of glacial rock flour flow into the lake, and these suspended rock particles give the lake a bright, turquoise color. Because of its bright color, photos of the lake often appear in illustrated books, and area around the lake is a popular sightseeing spot for tourists in the park. The lake is best seen from Bow Summit, the highest point on the Icefield Parkway. The lake is fed by the Peyto Creek, which drains water from the Caldron Lake and Peyto Glacier (part of the Wapta Icefield), and flows into the Mistaya River.
