The sunrises over tropical Fiji, the palms blow gently in the morning breeze. The resort pool looks inviting, jump on in.
Camping a couple of nights at this beautiful spot was almost surreal…surrounded by tropical rainforest and the calcium rich waters from flowing through limestone country made it look even more idyllic – seclusion,isolation..add some fantastic company and a natural heaven is there.. as always – thanks for viewing and yes these are/were the actual colours of the original transperancy. / / EOS A2, Fuji Velvia 50. / ©T.Middleton2007 / view this image large bubblesite / photography blog / portfolio ©T.Middleton2009 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-——

been reading about tribal child raising and the benefits, and we know I like birds… I began this art as abstract patterns, bubbles of pattern that transformed when I realised by putting a ‘fork in the road’ to the concentric circles, that I created an eye and beak. Before that, it could’ve been shown either way up. also, it transformed from earthy brown colours, to a colourful bird. ‘Is it art? ‘my teacher used to always question. He’s not here now. He’s just asking the question still! in my head! I like it-it’s bright, colouful and alive.

Digital Airbrush Painting
The Sea Venture was one of the first ships to arrive in Bermuda. It was thrown accidentally off course by a hurricane and landed on the reefs intact. Its original course was with a fleet from England headed towards / Jamestown, Virginia to aid in the colonization. From being shipwrecked, the crew and passengers of the Sea Venture settled in Bermuda and benefitted from its tropical paradise and set up a small colony. This painting is a Mixed Media piece, combining original digital photography taken in Bermuda by me SBC, with my painting, and drawings. It is intended to capture the natural and surreal beauty of Bermuda through my eyes. This art won an Honorable Mention Award in the Rowayton Art Show in 2006 and First Place in the Darien Art Show in 2007. It is presently being considered for exhibition at the Royal Navy Dockyard Museum in Bermuda. Thank you for your interest, comments and purchases!
Work exhibited in the Visual Arts Association Group Exhibition ‘Four Seasons’, held Cairns Regional Gallery, Qld. / The exhibition theme was inspired by the Vivaldi’s music ‘The Four Seasons’. Mixed media – archival black ink, acrylic, collage – paper painted, mono & screen-printed, drawing, photo; screen-printed cotton fabric, carpet material; on canvas. Background: I had been working individually on art compositions relative to my passion to interpret music, rhythm, movement and energy through the use of formal visual art elements ie. line, colour, tone, shape, texture and art media. The interpretation of any music requires one’s senses to hear and feel, absorb sound and energies, to internalize and contemplate, as apposed to recording information seen/perceived through the eyes from the physical ‘outer’ world. One has to create and interpret a visionary abstract, from a pure transitional and spiritual sensual state, from one’s own internal environment, the knowledge, understanding and experience one brings to canvas for the moments of manifestation. I jumped at the chance when this exhibition theme came up. Also I am much inspired by Kandinsky and his work, a long time favourite art philosopher and mentor. ....................................... /

She is regal, she is royal, she is every woman, she is you, she is me…she is strong in body mind and soul, she is timeless,...she is wise, she is free, this woman, “The Queen”... The Fourth in the series, her face is half turned to the viewer, looking away, conscious of her dignity, regal in her bearing, as if carved from the rarest wood... I have named you queen. / There are taller ones than you, taller. / There are purer ones than you, purer. / There are lovelier than you, lovelier. But you are the queen. When you go through the streets / no one recognizes you. / No one sees your crystal crown, no one looks / at the carpet of red gold / that you tread as you pass, / the nonexistent carpet. And when you appear / all the rivers sound / in my body, bells / shake the sky, / and a hymn fills the world. Only you and I, / only you and I, my love, / listen to it. / In my goal to portray women in all guises and emotions, here is the latetst addition to the collection..”The Temptation”....we all know what the feeling…temptation comes in many disguises…is she the temptress, or has she been tempted?make of her what you will… / When I was halfway through painting it, I remembered a picture I had seen in a magazine advertising lipstick….the model had her fingers on the open lips…. I thought they would be a perfect addititon to the painting, but I needed to see them again, just to be sure…. I frantically dug through my recycling bin (luckily we are having a garbage strike and everthing is still here) and found the picture…..the fingers were just what I needed…it was apparent that the picture had been buried in my subconscious, just waiting to emerge in this painting….I made the modifications to the image and here it is Acrylic and watercolour on Fabriano Paper.. 613 views…33 Favouritings.. Rota Island – August 2009 / straight out of the camera / Life on this island is friendly and unhurried and the hospitality is as unforgettable as the magical sunsets. Rota Island is a natural playground with around 3000 inhabitants and is known by many to be Micronesia’s best-kept secret / Rota (Chamoru: Luta) also known as the “peaceful island”, is the southernmost island of the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and the second southernmost of the Marianas Archipelago. It lies approximately 40 miles north-northeast of the United States territory of Guam. Songsong village is the largest and most populated followed by Sinapalo village (Sinapalu). In 1521, the first European to see Rota, was the lookout on Magellan’s ship Victoria, Lope Navarro. However, Magellan’s Armada of three ships didn’t stop until they reached Guam, so the first European to arrive in Rota (in 1524), was Spanish navigator Juan Sebastian Elcano, who annexed it together with the rest of the Marianas Archipelago on behalf of the Crown of Spain. Rota has diverse flora and fauna.. / Wikipedia ©2009/2010 Globalphotos All rights reserved. / All photographs, text and images by Globalphotos are the exclusive property of Globalphotos – protected under Australian and international copyright laws. / These images may not be reproduced, copied or manipulated without written permission. / No use for Public Domain. / Use of any image for another photographic concept or illustration is a violation of copyright.
