  • Dragonfly taking a well deserved rest. I watched this little critter zipping by, diving, chasing others and even mating frantically for quite a while before it finally gave me a chance to take this photograph. I don’t know what drives these things; but if we could tap its energy, we’d have no more fuel shortage. / The photo is of a blue dragonfly, pondhawk or Libellula of some type. I have had trouble identifying it, so anyone knows what it is I’d appreciate your letting me know. / Photo data: Sigma 105mm lense; f/2.8, ISO 100

  • The three glowing orbs had a chat and decided they would all glow blue at the same time. This was a random act of kindness on their part as they know how much I like this colour… I might stop uploading these images soon, probably after the next one, but there are so many, many more with such wonderful rich colours. I think I might have to make a collage out of them. That’s what I’ll do tomorrow. (if I remember and don’t get side tracked by another idea!) • Well, doing portraits is very difficult when the only flash you have is the onboard one and you get heaps of red-eyes from it. Luckily, that isn’t the case with this image. What is it? Well, its straws of course, with three lights that change colour of their own volition. This time two had a chat and decided to be red while the third was blue. All of this was placed behind a crystal ball….. or should that be a crystal ball was placed in front? Nevermind, you get the picture…. 1 October 2009 Featured in Blur 1 October 2009 Featured in Globes, Spheres and Curves
