Although nature photography is probably my favorite sometimes I see ordinary objects sitting in a particular way and have to take a picture. Rarely do I move objects to compose a picture because I think things in the world are amazing just the way they are- you just have to look at them the right way. I was laying on my family’s old dock at our lake place in the sun and looked over at my flip flops and had to run back to the beach to get my camera for a picture :) I did take what color there was in the dock out in photoshop to focus the eye more on the old blue flip flops. /

Happy New Year everyone! This shot was taken at the Sunshine Coast just before Christmas 2007….well it’s an old shot isn’t it. Taken with my Canon 5D and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM Lens. No Filter has been used but I did some fake HDR processing (single shot) using Dynamic Photo HDR. It’s a fun program and a great alternative to Photomatix.

/ Sailor Girl is a mixed media production on canvas textured paper, I used ink, pastel, and some acrylic…..inks are mainly black, acrylics are mainly white, you can see the canvas texture showing through the pastel, which gives it a nice textured appeal I am really into sailing boats, hope you like this one :D Here’s another one available in a print at last!

Day is mostly long just now 21.6, dark time is very little. I went in morning already before clock 3 rivers ashore, morning showed promising. On the river was magnificent fog, I expected sunrise, thick dark cloud covered however the skyline, this picture I took just sunrise time, only a little reddens behind the thick cloud. Featured in Rural Around The Globe August 28 2009. Best Viewed Larger This lovely gazebo, which is often used for weddings, is on the mountain at Blue Knob, Claysburg, Pennsylvania. I took this image on the evening of August 14, 2009. The original image was taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. I had a lot of fun tinkering including hdr in Photomatix and subsequent Orton technique on the image in Photoshop and embellishments in Corel Painter 11.
