  • Taken as I was leaving my Spiritual Healing School in Pope Valley, Califonia . I had seen this a few times passing by and wanted to capture the end of a beautiful week at school. It was perfect lighting on my way home to Florida. / Casio Exilim History of Pope Valley

  • Oil Painting…I painted this quite a few years ago (maybe 1995-1996). It is based on a detail from a famous painting but unfortunately I cannot remember what the name of the painting was or who the original artist was. My version of this painting was painted on 16”x12” canvas board. I’ve decided to name it ‘Ode to an Urn’ as it reminds me of my favourite poem. Ode on a Grecian Urn by John Keats / I also love one of his other ‘Odes’ Ode to a Nightingale ...if I could only find myself a nightingale. LOL! • This random and spontaneous ‘still life’ shot was taken at my home-office desk. The gold part is a letter clip holder and the futuristic face you see is from some old magazine that I made into a bookmark that still hasn’t found its way into a book.

It is saying to me: “I’m finished!” So I’m posting it. I must have created it last summer (southern hemisphere) around Christmas time by the look of the Hydrangeas in the vase and the scattered Agapanthas that I picked from the garden. The tablecloth is a lovely linen one that I bought from an Op Shop and the jug was bought many years ago at a jumble sale when I started acquiring objects for still life paintings. The northern light streams through the lounge room window and I often set up my work here. Oh for the memories… Features: / Digital Brushstrokes

  • Such a wonderful morning.. high and low cloud hanging over one of my favourite locales – Lake Illawarra. Together with this amazing jetty this boat and its companion are a joy to capture and given this is the dawn of the last day of 2009 it’s a fitting way to say goodbye to the year that was ;-) Hope you enjoy.

  • I titled this abstract (an aerial view), “A Warming Trend”..it is a small play on words that don’t really come near to reflecting the magnitude of what is happening to the earth…islands in the Caribbean are being slowly swallowed up by the increasing tides caused by global warming…it’s interesting too, that in 1802, Wordsworth was so concerned about the loss of nature in a consumerist society, that he wrote the poem below, which can just as easliy be applied to society today…I have also included a short verse that I think we should all adopt as our resolution for the future... samples of other abstracts in the series are shown below. Watercolour on Arches Hot Pressed Paper The world is too much with us; late and soon, / Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers; / Little we see in Nature that is ours; / We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon! / This Sea that bares her bosom to the moon, / The winds that will be howling at all hours, / And are up-gathered now like sleeping flowers, / For this, for everything, we are out of tune; / It moves us not. -Great God! I’d rather be / A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn; / So might I, standing on this pleasant lea, / Have glimpses that would make me less forlorn; / Have sight of Proteus rising from the sea; / Or hear old Triton blow his wreathed horn.W.Wordsworth I have come to terms with the future. / From this day onward I will walk easy on the earth. / Plant trees. / Kill no living things. / Live in harmony with all creatures. / I will restore the earth where I am. / Use no more of its resources than I need. / And listen, listen to what it is telling me. / - M.
