Well, the temperature was -3 and we were having periods of snow; however, this brave soul was out surfing. They weren’t alone though, there were several others doing the same thing. I had the camera pointed towards the surfer when the wave broke so I grabbed the shot.

Photograph shot on a delightful mid week morning in the autumn of 2005. / It was the first play with my brand new Nikon Digital SLR. I couldn’t believe my luck, as I rounded the bend and saw 8-10 foot backlit topaz coloured Lennox Point gun barrels. I filled my one and only 1gb card within an hour, and bagged myself at least 20 beautiful very usable shots. Success in anyones books, for a single session. Enjoy!

Usually, I try to use my own images for layering, but this time I added two stock textures from CG Textures and from Princess of Shadows at Deviant Art Position cursor over images for more details / / Finished in 5th position of Top Ten in the challenge A Little More Summer of the If It Doesn’t Belong group on April 28, 2009 During the process, I converted to black and white then to a split tone version from indigo to cream, and liked it so much that I decided to upload it too /
