Although nature photography is probably my favorite sometimes I see ordinary objects sitting in a particular way and have to take a picture. Rarely do I move objects to compose a picture because I think things in the world are amazing just the way they are- you just have to look at them the right way. I was laying on my family’s old dock at our lake place in the sun and looked over at my flip flops and had to run back to the beach to get my camera for a picture :) I did take what color there was in the dock out in photoshop to focus the eye more on the old blue flip flops. /

Meg had fun posing, and Nanna had fun with the processing! Created with two photos and a few layers. Extracted the background from the legs, desaturated the colours, overlaid a photo of a texture and blended the background image through. The male bowerbird is known for its romantic/eccentric behavior whereby it will go out and collect items of one particular hue, more often than not; blue. It will then go back to its nesting place and spend hours organsing and sorting the collected item into an elaborate arrangement that will hopefully attract mate.
