  • Enjoy!

  • This was taken at Dickey beach in QLD. The rusted remains of an old ship reminded me of dinasour bones rising out of the sand.

  • The ice caps have melted. The year in 2099. With 99% of the earth underwater, some life starts to adapt.

  • Here are my 3 playing at the beach during a storm. I’ve had a bit of a play with colours and liked the end result. I find this quite dreamy and surreal almost.

  • Sometimes even mistakes can turn out right. Here I woke up really early, way too early as I misjudged the time for a sunrise. So for an hour or so I was just waiting for the light. As the moon descended this opportunity arouse. This shot is taken at a point where on one side of the beach you can see east and watch the sunrise and basically just turn around and face west and watch the moon set. At this point the resort was abandoned, hence the chair. I only moved it slightly to improve the composition. Photo Taken: 04-Jan-2007 / Time: Early, somewhere between 5 and 6am / Conditions: Calm, really beautiful   /   /   /   /   /   /   /   Some other seascape art: / /   /   / /   /   /

  • I know that in an artistic sense this is quite simple, however to me it has great meaning. The image is of my two boys who are also the best of friends. They have an unbreakable bond and here, they are doing something they love; just being together.

The Shell Maiden / / I come from the rain of sky and sea, caught / on the web of a shoreline daisy, braced low / and spinning in carnival delight with the / kiss of Pacifica’s mist. I come from the company of driftwood and seashells, bleached white as a wedding train waiting to be worn. The waves roll like a wedding march / announcing the union of land and deep blue dreams. / They bring a dowry of tangled vines and sand dollar spines, / and my heart says YES to this sailors treasure. I come from the flutter of dry seaweed, / no longer rich with Oceana’s brine, and yet / adorning the beach with seafoam flare, / like rice and petals clinging to the foot of a runaway bride. Bring me the delicacies of your wedding feast, snapped up in the yellow of a jealous lover’s bill, for I am treading softly here on honeymoon beds of ancient sand, / inscribing moon colored vows / on the framework / of whales. • “Time and Tide” She rises in silence on another human moment, and illuminates the crumbling icons we worship…and those we have yet to awaken to. Reality is merely a perception, and we can be so blind. Regardless of our lack of vision, / time and tide move inexorably to erase all traces of our petty struggles and return us to the place it all began… The ghosts of the past walk beside the spirits of the future, leaving invisible footprints upon this landscape… guiding a relentless cycle of humanity on its neverending journey to self discovery. Somewhere between the lines, truth reveals the simple joy of acceptance and the relinquishing of control, and waits patiently for us to see. Beyond all that we think we are or strive to be, time and tide will continue to overwrite our diminutive stories with a grander chronicle of their own, eternally seeking to restore the balance…. Wendy Slee (2009) (a large-format version of this image is currently on display in an exhibition at ArtGeo Gallery in Busselton, as part of the National Lifestyle Villages annual art awards)

Located below Makapu’u Point, a portion of land marking Hawaii’s easternmost tip. This is a very popular beach for bodysurfing. Rabbit Island and Flat Island sit just offshore and makes this beach a picturesque beauty. • Located on Venice Beach, FL this beach did not have many sunbathers which made it easy to photograph. I loved the large clump of seagrass that was on the sand. 50 blades of seagrass blowing in the wind! Taken with a Canon XTI / f/8 / ISO-100 / 1/640 sec / 24mm
