corner of mission and 2nd street, san francisco, holga madness. / kodak tri-x turns out this is just up the road from the new RB office, but I didn’t know that when I took it. (having only been to the US thrice i still find steam rising from the vents in the street most evocative, the locals probably find it annoying)

Golden Gate Bridge acrylic on canvas by American Impressionist painter RD Riccoboni ™. Brilliant orange and bright blues in the sky and water compliment each other in this exciting painting of the famous bridge in The San Francisco Bay. When I think of the Golden Gate Bridge I am inspired by what can be achieved when we put our minds to somthing. Barbara Stanny said: / Each of us was born with wings and has the ability to go farther than we ever / thought possible, to do things beyond our wildest imaginings. / RD Riccoboni ™ Impressionist art and Realism art includes California Art, San Diego Art, Los Angeles Art, San Francisco Art, New York Art, Manhattan Art, New York City Art, Connecticut Art, and New England Art. You can view his work at Beacon Artworks Gallery in San Diego California. Color is the first thing you notice about my work. What makes it ‘pop’ is the placement of color and texture. The primary colors in my palette are derived from the colors in the original rainbow flag which represent sexuality, healing, sun, nature, art, harmony and spirit. As a painter I am a visual storyteller. A message comes with the art – perhaps it is playful, calming, erotic, disturbing, political, or even sacred. I like to flirt with the issues and experiences we face in everyday life, the things we do and the places we go that define our lives. Whether positive, humorous, or thought provoking, my work portrays events people relate to while creating a sense of place for the viewer. RD Riccoboni ™is an innovative American-born painter (California, 1960), influenced by his early years living in the suburbs of New York City. A self-taught artist, he credits encouragement by family and teachers for his drive and inspiration. RD Riccoboni ™ paintings on canvas and paper depict his travels and local interest. Subjects include California landscape, cityscape, portraiture, street-scenes, public events, and everyday happenings and friends. His palette is derived from the bold colors of the original rainbow flag. Colors that represent, sexuality, healing, sunshine, nature, art, harmony, and spirit. / RD Riccoboni ™ is internationally recognized work represents community, a sense of place in a positive and life affirming manner. Beacon Artworks Gallery, shows the San Diego paintings by California artist RD Riccoboni. These art pieces tell the story of San Diego from Old Town to today, created in bold color. The birthplace of California – Old Town, San Diego is featured at the gallery, as well as the first mission and colonial building in the western United States, Mission San Diego De Alcala. Visit the Spanish Colonial fantasy of Balboa Park, the historic Gaslamp district, Little Italy, Point Loma, La Jolla and Coronado Island. The gallery takes you on a colorful tour through art of America’s finest city, San Diego, with paintings by one of America’s favorite artists, RD Riccoboni. Riccoboni appreciates both new and old San Diego, along with the California history that surrounds these settings. Beacon Artworks Gallery is located at 2754 Calhoun Street in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.
San Ignacio Lagoon is one of the best places in the world to see Gray whales and their calves up close. During the calving season you can go out into the lagoon in a small boat (called a panga), and after a short wait, the whale mum and calf will come up to you. They (mainly the calf) love to rub themselves against the boats and also to be scratched! You really get a close up look into their eyes! Then, just when you start to feel at one with each them, they blow salt water in your face and all over your camera! But it’s worth it!!! / / You may also get to see some great breaching too. / / (San Ignacio Lagoon – Baja California) / / / >< / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /
This is a PS composite of three Holga shots, the Frisco skyline, a window on Alcatraz and me on the tube in London. What I am trying to say here is that deep underneath everything that exists, there is a filthy window, and if you can peer through this darkness and into your imprisoned inner being you can see …... ....that the fucking Northern Line is suspended again.

One of our family’s favorite vacation spots is Pagosa Springs in Colorado. We love soaking in the hot springs pools, play in the swimming pool or in San Juan River, go fishing, or just enjoy the nature and all the beauty around. Here’s a capture from the Hot Springs pool in Pagosa, taken early in the morning.

This is another piece from the folio that I decided needed a facelift! Originally called Sunday, I gave it the vintage treatment, adding a couple of textures and blanching out the colour slightly, to resemble a postcard or memory of a past holiday or day off at the beach. This was taken at Playa de la Concha, in San Sebastian, the main beach in the port town. It was a beautiful day and our first day in there. A trip to the beach was well worth the long walk from the hostel. These changing rooms were up for hire, as well as umbrellas, sun beds and deck chairs. It is a beach full of activity and vibe.
