Heart Built on Tears These are individually placed waterdrops on a CD. The colors come from how the light is refracted on the surface. I have always loved Sea urchins and have always collected them from when i was a child right up into adulthood. They would be the first thing I would look for when I got out of my car and my feet hit the sand on the beach. Suprisingly there arent that many to be found anymore on the beach where I have always gone to find them. sony ax 300 SLR 70 – 200ml lense.

This little gem can be found just around the corner from Loch Ard Gorge near Port Campbell off Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, Australia. I came here the afternoon before and there were snap happy tourists everywhere but decided to come back the next morning and there wasn’t a soul in sight, just the crashing ocean to keep me company… Unfortunately as of early June 2009 this archway has collapsed leaving two apostles next to eachother. I’ve been trying for ages to get two drops to collide as they are dropped into a bowl. Finally I have achieved it. Up to now I’ve had trouble with focus and sharpness. I’ve finally solved those problems, although I need more light to avoid underexposure. Looks like I’m in the market for a decent studio light!!! :) This image was made by dropping pink coloured milk into blue milky water. Canon EOS 40D. 90mm Macro lens.

A scene I have often passed by, but either the light was wrong, or I didn’t have the time. / On this occasion, things fell into place, except for the fact that I had left my tripod at home !! DOH !! (on a shopping trip for provisions to Fort William !) / It is a hand-held three shot hdr, because of the extreme lighting. / Loch Lochy is reputed to have a “monster” like Loch Ness ! Shot on my Canon EOS50D, iso 100, auto wb, three RAW’s at -2EV, +2EV,0EV, hand held braced against a bush for added stability, Canon 17-85mm IS lens set at 53mm, f11, processed in Photomatix, then Adobe CS3, with colour adjustments, and more selective levels / curves.
