This capture was made in the open space at the top of Copper Road in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The open space occupies the foothills areas of the Sandia mountains and abuts the Cibola National Forest. This portion features several prominent hills and one cone-shaped peak that towers over all. I snapped this photo just as two climbers reached the shoulder of that peak. It was an overcast day, but the front side of the peak was lit by a ray or two of late evening sunshine that snuck through a break in the clouds. Pentax K20D. 1/3200 @ F8, EV Comp -.7, ISO 200
