Traveling on his way, the Fool first encounters a Magician. Skillful, self-confident, a powerful Magus with the infinite as a halo floating above his head, the Magician mesmerizes the Fool. When asked, the Fool gives over his bundled pack and stick to the Magician. Raising his wand to heaven, pointing his finger to Earth, the Magician calls on all powers; magically, the cloth of the pack unfolds upon the table, revealing its contents. And to the Fool’s eyes it is as if the Magician has created the future with a word. There are all the possibilities laid out, all the directions he can take. The cool, airy Sword of intellect and communication, the fiery Wand of spirituality and ambition, the overflowing Chalice of Love and emotions, the solid Pentacle of work, possessions and body. With these tools, the Fool can create anything, make anything of his life. But here’s the question, did the Magician create the tools, or were they already in the pack? Only the Magician knows – and on this mystery, our eloquent mage refuses to say a word. At #1, the Magician is the male power of creation, creation by willpower and desire. Eliot’s poem Hollow Men, especially by the following lines: “Between the desire / And the spasm / Between the potency / And the existence / Between the essence / And the descent / Falls the Shadow” There are four images in the series so far: The second in the series is Tête-à-Tête. / The third in the series is Métamorphose. by MagpieMagicThis is the final in my L’Oiseau series – although I am not quite sure about this yet. It feels as if there’s on more lying in wait…. So you’ll have to watch this space. It refers to the following lines: ‘The eyes are not here / There are no eyes here / In this valley of dying stars / In this hollow valley / This broken jaw of our lost kingdoms.’ of T.S. Eliot’s poem ‘The Hollow Men’ and was inspired by it. There are three more images in the series (so far): The first in the series is Panier-Avec-L’Oiseau. / The second in the series is Tête-à-Tête. / The third in the series is Métamorphose. A brief explanation might be in order: / - the cage is actually half seed pod (not a peanut!!!) / - the flowers are poppies, which are used in rememberance of the fallen soldiers here in the UK / - at the back you can faintly see a feather pattern I created specifically for this image / - the sky/clouds is a photograph which I’ve used as a texture / - the leaves framing all the pictures are photographs that I’ve edited and arranged to frame the image. 101 views to date.

This definitely is the final in my L’Oiseau series. LOL I know I’ve said this before, but this definitely is it. It refers to the following lines: ‘Between the conception / And the creation / Between the emotion / And the response / Falls the Shadow.’ of T.S. Eliot’s poem ‘The Hollow Men’ and was inspired by it. There are four more images in the series (so far): The first in the series is Panier-Avec-L’Oiseau. / The second in the series is Tête-à-Tête. / The third in the series is Métamorphose. The fourth in the series is Fin A brief explanation might be in order: / - the nest is inspired by an egret’s nest. / - the flowers are brambles/blackberries, / - at the back you can faintly see a spiral and pearl pattern I created for my Goth Scrap(k)it. / - the sky/clouds is a photograph which I’ve used as a texture / - the leaves framing all the pictures are photographs that I’ve edited and arranged to frame the image. The series is about recognising yourself for who you are and growing because of it, change and rebirth as the new person. Eeek! The uploader does terrible things to my beautiful image!
