On a visit to the Jardin Botanique in Montreal I was captivated by the Chinese Garden. Various ponds and streams had huge floating islands of lily pads. But it was not until I rested that I discovered these two lily pads and the reflections, just over the side of the bench I was sitting on. Taken in macro mode. “Life is not merely a series of meaningless accidents or coincidences, but rather it is a tapestry of acts that culminate in an exquisite, sublime plan.” -from the movie Serendipity Featured in the Abstracts From Nature group July 2008.

This is the second HDR image shot the other day on my girlfriend’s property.. I was inspired to try my hand at an HDR involving a dam after seeing some of the brilliant work here on the Bubble.. I think it turned out well and I liked how the image almost looks as though it is bent if you look at the tree line.. / As always comments are most welcome! Thanks a lot for looking! The original was just a normal white lotus on water with leaves underneath. Then on a really basic software I moved the black point to the right and the background went fully black!! Then I turned the colours towards “cold” and these colours came up!! (who needs photoshop really ;))

I couldn’t believe how tiny yet beautiful these flowers were in my garden. That entire row in this photo was less than 2 cm or just over 1/2 an inch! The main reason for adding this one is for my calendar which I’m making up for the family so I might decide to pull it down eventually.. Depending on the interest.
